Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

Terrible course experience
The course is in terrible shape and they closed the grill at 1:30 because the employee wanted to go home. This is unacceptable when there are golfers on the course.
Great dat with my Twins
Lot’s of fun. Great pace of play. Nice for teaching my Twin daughters to play golf. Lots of fairway space. Great weather.
Good Course, Nice Views
Course was fun, greens were pretty fast, not as challenging as I would hope for but fun! Golf Carts were nice but not fully charged, went thru three carts in 18 holes... other than that it was a good time while vacationing in Southern California!!
Lots of potential
This course has a really nice layout and present a challenge for all levels of golfers. The greens were recently asserated and will be in great condition. The fairways and some of the sand traps could use a little TLC but the majority of them are in good playing condition. The court is long from the tips and has a reasonable number of obstacles. I suggest that they offer more hot deal tee times on golf now to introduce more players to this course. The mountain ranges in the distance and the different elevations add a beauty to the course..
i like it
I play here 10 times a year. always easy to get a tee time and i really like the course. most the time it plays fast but if slow you are on your own. No marshal and if you call them they just do nothing! I still like it just tee off early.
Mud
Typically I wouldn’t complain about playing a round that cost me less than $20 with a cart but the course was in such bad shape that it took all the joy out of playing the game. It’s a shame because the layout of the course has so much potential.
First, the range balls were in such bad shape that it was impossible to tell how my ball was going to fly that day. The dimples were warm out on all the balls and I even had several range balls that were splitting open. I was afraid they were going to explode when I hit them.
The biggest disappointment was the course condition though. It was nearly impossible to find a good spot from the tea boxes to hit from. They were uneven and patchy. I ended up in the bunker several time around the greens and there was no sand in it. Instead, it was all mud. Literally mud. You would have thought there were heavy rains the the day before, but no. For whatever reason, the groundskeeper decided to flood the bunkers. There is no joy in steeping into a pool of mud and trying to hit a ball out of it.
The worst part of all, and keeping with theme of mud, was the conditions around the greens. They were soaked! I remember several times when taking a practice chip, that my club would just covered with mud. It was so bad that I had to go back to my cart to wipe the club off with a towel. Why would any sane person over water their course. At this point, you are doing more damage to the course than any good. Especially for a course that looks financially on the rocks, you are just wasting more money by overwatering the ground.
It’s a shame because this course has so much potential. The layout of the course looks fun but there was no joy in playing when it is in such bad condition. I hope they get new groundskeepers or management who can turn this place around.
Promising but still needs work
Slow play, played behind group who was 2 holes back - No marshal around, this course can be better but is running on a shoestring budget. I go there because it is near the coast with a cool breeze, relatively inexpensive and just interesting enough to possibly have a good round of golf.
