Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

Nice greens, rest of course not maintained
The greens here are well maintained and in good condition. The tee blocks and fairways were in very poor condition.
Poor ol' Cam Springs..
I hadn't played this course in years. I was sad to see how rundown the facility has become. American Golf sold this property years ago, and it was obvious the new owners have done little to improve this course.
I use to play this course alot and knew that course has always had drainage and high alkaline issues. The fairway appears dry but underneath its wet. Many of the lakes are now dry.
Even the entrance sign is homemade and looks like a kid painted it!!!
The pro shop had little merchandise.
It's obvious that this course is on life support and if it wasn't for the high senior neighborhood, this place would be really dismal.
I was sad to see how far this course has declined. The 5 holes next to the hills, use to be my favorites because it looked like
you were in another state. Sadly the beautiful hills were burned in a fire last year, so that vista is gone.
The greens were surprisedly good. At least there is something positive about the course conditions!! Sad since this is a Ted Robinson designed course.
poor pace and conditions
It took longer than 5 hours to finish on a Sunday. They need to better Marshall and tend the the course.
enjoyed this course
Always like playing this course. WINDY DAY so made play difficult into wind. Loves holes 2-26 and back9.
Nice course potential
Greens were in good condition. Fairways were a little sparse.
Overall had a good time.
Friendly staff. Good course. Nice views.
T-boxes could use some work and although fairways are in good shape they could also use a little more maintenance. Some fairways are currently over-seeded so that should help. Greens were nice but a little on the slow side. Overall club-house and driving range could use some sprucing up. The course has nice views and offers good value especially with the "Hot Deals."
what a fun course
I really enjoyed playing this course, it was challanging, nicely maintained, and played fast.
I will be back!
thanks
The course was in very good shape
We were lucky enough to catch a day with almost no wind. Without the sea breeze the course plays much easier.
This course needs some TLC
Tee boxes in need of mowing, fairways were either over-watered or in need of water (not consistent). Course has a beautiful surrounding area in the low lands with mountain views.
Great Value for the money
Camarillo Springs is in fairly good shape nowadays. It's in much better condition than I remember, from my last match there. The greens were in surprisingly good condition, considering they were punched only a week or 10 days ago.
Overall maintenance of the place is still lacking, but the course itself seems to be in fairly good condition.
Good Value for the Money.
While the fairways still need some attention (and it would be nice if the lakes were refilled), for the money, this is one of the best courses around. I will go back.
Greens are in fantastic condition.
Camarillo really is great deal for the money in Southern California.
With all other courses in the area, some with very high green fees, we felt this was a bargain. Unfortunately most of the lakes have no water in them hopefully that will be remedied soon. Enjoyed it just the same, only lake that had water I hit into it. Very nice we definitely return.
This course has some fun holes.
While not overly difficult, it's a decent course and has some fun holes. Greens were in good condition, but a majority of the fairways were a little dry. Not a lot of amenities like at some nicer resort courses, but it does have a driving range, and coffee shop. Bring your GPS, not a lot of yardage markers.
This course is good
This course is good but so many beginner golfer
they need lean the rule first.
Love the layout
I really like the course but feel it needs to be maintained or cleaned up. It's tough to find a flat part on the tee boxes and the sand traps are hard. The greens are tight and role well.
Positive experience at Camarillo
I have been critical of this course recently due to the less than desirable conditions combined with a less than friendly staff. However I am improving my rating on this visit due to the friendliness of the staff on this visit. Upon entry to the clubhouse I was at least greeted with a friendly Hello and smile. I am not sure of the name of the man behind the counter, I think it was Gary or Greg. He was cordial upon my check in and informed me that we were still waiting for the rest of the group scheduled at my tee time. I was a bit early so I waited. Some time past and there was a shift change at the front desk in the Pro Shop. I was happy to see the new attendant come out and find out exactly who I was and my tee time. He then booked me with another single and had us go out in front of a foursome. It was a nice change of pace from what I had seen at the Pro Shop recently.
Overall this course needs some attention. I think my biggest complaint comes from the tee boxes and rough spots on fairways on some holes. Some greens were a little rough, but I actually thought the greens were improved from my last visit. Overall I still do like this track even in the rough shape it seems to stay in. There are a number of holes that I find very challenging and fun. I love 12th par 3 over the water and find it fun to play 12-18 going with and against wind each hole. I do think with the number of courses around at competitive prices Camarillo Springs needs to either drop rates or find ways to improve condition or play, so I cannot say that I would recommend this course to a friend. However I will say if the staff keeps improving with more of a welcoming vibe and some changes to rates or condition, this could be a course that finds my rotation more often.
yes
I recommend this course too all golfers.
Staff friendly value for the money is great
