Staff was great
The greens were a bit beat up. The pace of play was not good. We waited at every hole. I’m glad I played it once.
Too slow
Took a full 5 hours to play. No ranger to help pace of play.
Great place to play but..
Knox Municipal is a great place to play, greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Some of the tee boxes are exact opposite and in really bad condition and need some fixing but overall love the course and I return frequently!
Lack of improvements
The course seems to be not cared for. The tee boxes are bare and the ones with grass/weeds are not maintained. There are many bare spots in the fairways leaving undesirable lies and outcomes.

Good for what it is
It's a muni... a good muni. Fun layout, some greens are ball marked up, tee boxes are meh. Good to go get some shots in.
Worst course I’ve played on ever
The fairways were in terrible shape. The course layout was difficult because of irregularities and lack of grass in the fairways.. I felt like I was playing in a cow pasture. I don’t usually expect much from a municipal course therefore, I don’t usually play them, but this one was not a good one. I won’t be back.
Coming along nicely
Greens are filling in from being plugged. Fairways are greening up and should start to thicken with the warmer weather. Still some fairways with bare areas and a few areas that have been damaged/roped off due to all the rain in May. Got a Hot Deal for $23 and was definitely with the price!
Rude Employees
Got cussed out by a course employee for something I didn't even do. It was cart path only and he came and cussed me and my friend out as we were quite literally on the cart path. There were tire marks in the mud on the fairway that were not even ours.
Poor Maintenance
I booked this course last minute for my son and I to play on a Saturday morning. You take what you can get at that point. My expectations were not super high given it was the only course in town with a tee time available. That said, the course was below my lowered expectation. I hadn’t played here in 30 years. It felt as if it had been neglected that long. It was a challenge to even know where the fairways ended and the rough began. There was hardly any grass anywhere. Most shots were on hard pan dirt. The course is very hilly. Most lies are on a slope. Combine that with no real grass to hit from and it was a real challenge. Greens were actually in decent shape. That was 1 positive. I would choose not to play here next time if it were the only tee time available in the area.
Winter golf = muddy tee boxes and fairways
The course played as well as possible for the conditions. It was raining and 41 degrees at tee off. Greens were in fair shape but the tee boxes were muddy. Maybe mats would be an idea during these winter months. Had fun. Great play for the price. Staff was friendly
Easy and simple
It was cold, course in fair shape. Got the round for $10.00, how can you complain.
