About
Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is the top municipal course in the state and it is also ranked as one of the top 20 in the nation. Overlooking the Cuyahoga River Valley, the course is known for its scenery almost as much as its challenging layout. It has a traditional design with a classic "out-and-in" routing, with the incoming holes playing uphill into the wind, making them seem much longer than the indicated yardage. Golfers might be taken aback by the punishing nature of the golf course. There are 58 bunkers strategically placed around the tough greens, which comprise the main challenges of the course. Get ready to be quickly introduced to the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course's formidability with the lengthy second hole, a par 3 that will test even the longest hitters.

Golfer Reviews
Awesome
This is one of the top 5 courses in Northeast OH, always in great shape. Greens are challenging, long enough for all player levels. You will not be disappointed.
This is a challenging course.
The fall colors are picturesque. The greens are undulated and not slow. One of the nicest public courses in the area.
Spectacular!!!!!!!!
Let me set the scene. First time playing here. Drove 2 hours 15 minutes to play here today. Tee time at 11:45 AM. Sunny, 52, light winds. Played front nine with 2 locals who have played there before. Tees were very good except for 2 par 3 tees that were chewed up, but OK. Fairways were firm and tight, so had to strike ball very solidly. Greens were in excellent condition, but very penal if you were above the hole, but on this day greens were smooth but not that fast on this day. Great variety of holes. Past reviews indicate slow rounds. I can honestly see why since 3 of the toughest hole are within first 5 holes on course, so I can understand why it takes so long to play there when busy. Also if greens were any drier or faster, this would be a bear to putt on. They deserve a five star rating since the layout is great and it should be appreciated by golfers who understand. Will definitely be back next year. Also, we were told Metroparks is getting rid of their catering service next year obviously due to money. On this day, they had clam chowder that was leftover from a clambake they had the day before and it was great and should be kept at course during chilly days. Service at course by staff was great. Hope to get back soon.
great course
This was a great course had a good time playing it the greens were good nice scenic views good food be back to play it again.
Beautiful course
This public course is beautiful and well maintained. However this course defends itself with hills and hazards. Fun!
One thing they need to improve is that the customer service skill an attitude. Go n play n have fun!
Beautiful course for the money
A buddy and I decided to play this course after reading some reviews. We were paired up with a doctor and one of the employees of the course. Had a wonderful day. Pace of play was perfect, even on a holiday weekend. Very friendly staff and the cold towels they provide on hole one were a nice gesture.
Local favorite but in TERRIBLE CONDITION
Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorite courses. Played it yesterday and it was in terrible condition. Fairways burnt out, tee boxes were tore up, and greens were fuzzy. Very disappointed.
Beautiful coarse, kinda unfair greens
Fun golf coarse to play, not happy when you hit the green and the ball jumps off like if it were a trampoline! Love the layout. The burgers were delicious, and the people we paired up with were great. Great day of golf. I thought I played one of my better rounds of golf all year.
Greens not so fast
First time playing this cleveland area legend,it is a very hilly and challenging course,we are in the middle of a hot dry spell so it played fast and firm like any area course would now.
I had heard about the lighting quick 4-putt greens but they were not that quick but very green and well manicured.Maybe a good thing they weren,t fast or the slow group in front of us that nobody said anything to would have taken 6 hours instead of 5 to play. Also 230 yard nb.2 hole needs shortened to speed up play.
Overall a very scenic and OK Course.
Very good public course
This course offers a good test of your golfing skills. It was in good condition and the scenic setting just adds to the experience. Very good value.
Elevation Changes Consistently
Lots of different terrains here. Beautiful course on the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Make sure you are ready for the variable lie angles!
Gorgeous Butt Kicker
This is one of my favorite courses. The layout is beautiful, conditions - impecable, and challenge - ridiculous. I am a mid to low 90s golfer and find breaking 100 to be difficult. It can be a frustrating course but I always find myself excited to return.
Course worthy of a replay
I had never played this course, but my friend insisted that we go. It was really a great round of golf. We never caught anyone in front of us and also never had the annoying jerks playing down on us. We were able to play a nice paced solid round of golf. The course is well maintained and has a beverage cart that makes timely rounds also. This was not the cheapest course to play by any stretch, but it was worth every penny. I cannot wait to play it again.
Great course--rains wouldn't stay away!
We live in Buffalo and come back to Cleveland to visit family & friends often. Being Father's Day, my husband wanted to play his favorite Metro course! Course was in excellent shape--too bad weather couldn't hold off--made it to #9 when the rains came down. Staff readily gave us a raincheck--we'll be back!~
Beautiful Facility
A beautiful course and it was a pleasure to play. Great food, friendly staff. Bring your 'A' game as it's a tough course.
One of the best courses!
Played the course after rain the day before and rain in the morning. The course was very dry for as much rain as we got. Staff very friendly, greens in excellent shape and just a very pleasant round of golf.
Pace of Play
They pride themselves on keeping pace of play at 4:35/18 holes. The starter at both 1 & 10 remind you about this as you play through.
County Club golf on a budget
I have played this course at least 20-25 times over the years. Not been there recently, had a friend in town to play and he had never been there. He was amazed at the layout and conditions and $35.00 on a weekday is a nice surprize, as well. A joy to play.
