Sleepy Hollow Golf Course
About
Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is the top municipal course in the state and it is also ranked as one of the top 20 in the nation. Overlooking the Cuyahoga River Valley, the course is known for its scenery almost as much as its challenging layout. It has a traditional design with a classic "out-and-in" routing, with the incoming holes playing uphill into the wind, making them seem much longer than the indicated yardage. Golfers might be taken aback by the punishing nature of the golf course. There are 58 bunkers strategically placed around the tough greens, which comprise the main challenges of the course. Get ready to be quickly introduced to the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course's formidability with the lengthy second hole, a par 3 that will test even the longest hitters.

This course is very challenging
Excellent shape, the greens were very challenging, better bring your "A Game"
fast greens tough pin placements
dry conditions greens not holding but still worth golfnow deal
great condition
Lightning fast true greens. Course was playing tough with great fairways and thick rough.
Nice public course.
Course was in great shape. Only negative of the day was the 4 some in front of us. Horrible golfers. They took approx 25 minutes per hole. Thank goodness they only played 9.
It was cold and wet, but course was in B+ condition, credit to greens crew
Love Sleepy Hollow. But Cashier could not figure out how to get my Metropark points included in the system ??
The cours itself is usually a pleasure to play with exceptions
The day we played they had signs out for cart path only. Our tee time was 12:18 sunny in the high 70's pushing into the 80's.
I drove the cart two feet off the cart path about half way down to the green (on the first tee), never reaching the fairway. Wouldn't you know when I got to the first green a ranger came up and scolded me for not staying on the cart path. By the time we played 7 holes the fairways were in no longer spongy and seemed to be able to accommodate golf carts which people pay good money to rent. It really slowed play having to walk from the cart path to your ball on every shot. The rangers made themselves present throughout the round waiting to pounce on anyone that failed to stay on the cart path. Needless to say that did not apply to them as they drove wherever they wished. I feel it would be a service to their money paying golfers to advise them before they pay for a cart that it can or can not be used on the fairways. This day a 90 degree crossing seemed in our eyes to be more than fair. Better watch yourself if you play this course BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING!!!!
A great public course.
A Country Club type course that is public. Challenging, but the different tee boxes compliment the course. Don't play on "cart path only days" if you have trouble walking.
Great Course, Bunkers need sand!
Course is in overall good condition. Greens are fast and extremely challenging. In some instances there is to much back to front slope on the greens. The bunkers were mostly filled with dirt and rocks, very little soft sand. Overall good course.
only issue was they tried to charge me more than the golfnow rate
nice course
cant be above the hole
some green speeds bordered on unplayable
may be better after aeration
Great course of the Public
I enjoyed this course.
Green was tough for me and not easy.
So I like it a lot !
I would like to come back again.
Thank you to all of this course!!!
Best course in Cleveland
This is a sensational golf course. A little wet this time of the year but should be in great shape come May 1.
great conditioning
the course is in great condition especially for the begging of the season. Greens were super fast and hilly so bring your putting game with you.
Best Around
Sleepy is one of Northeast Ohio's best public course layouts. Very Challenging!
With the current Maintenance Superintendent, it will only get better.
Favorite public course in Cleveland area
I enjoy the beautiful hilly terrain and the course is always in good shape when I play in the summer. If I lived in this area I'd probably play here once a week. There's a par five on the back nine that is wild. Dog leg hard right up the hill and green blocked by trees on your second shot. With a decent lie on your drive you can try over the trees toward the green. Most people don't make it.
Fast n Furious greens
The course is really in good condition and greens were really fast. I had several chances where I was on green in 2 but had 3-4 putts due to slope on greens. The practice green was as fast as the other greens so I recommend to get your hands accustomed to that before moving on the first tee. It becomes very important here to control the distance as you do not want a downhill putt as you may end up all the way down.
great course to play if you want a challenge
first time at this course and was impressed how long the holes were only been golfing for 6 months and like the challenge will play this course again in warmer weather
This is a beautiful course but...
This is a lovely course but there is no ranging whatsoever. The pace of play is abysmal. Men far outnumber the women and for the most part they completely ignore the courtesy of ready golf There is not a ranger in sight so play progresses at a snail's pace. 5+ hours for a round is becoming quite common place - very unfortunate and so avoidable.
Beautiful Stanley Thompson Design
The crown jewel of the metropatks. Well maintained. Some greens were built with slopes that are really too extreme for todays agronomy advancements. Simpler said, always stay below the hole. Rounds can be tedious due to the stern test of golf, and golfers trying to play a course above their skill level
Slow at Sleepy
Nice weather & fall rates tends to bring out the less skilled player.
Our round took over 5 !/2 hours. No rangers to be found. I love this course and know it's public but the hackers are taking over Sleepy Hollow and this track is not for the novice.
