Sleepy Hollow Golf Course
About
Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is the top municipal course in the state and it is also ranked as one of the top 20 in the nation. Overlooking the Cuyahoga River Valley, the course is known for its scenery almost as much as its challenging layout. It has a traditional design with a classic "out-and-in" routing, with the incoming holes playing uphill into the wind, making them seem much longer than the indicated yardage. Golfers might be taken aback by the punishing nature of the golf course. There are 58 bunkers strategically placed around the tough greens, which comprise the main challenges of the course. Get ready to be quickly introduced to the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course's formidability with the lengthy second hole, a par 3 that will test even the longest hitters.

Favorite public course in Cleveland area
I enjoy the beautiful hilly terrain and the course is always in good shape when I play in the summer. If I lived in this area I'd probably play here once a week. There's a par five on the back nine that is wild. Dog leg hard right up the hill and green blocked by trees on your second shot. With a decent lie on your drive you can try over the trees toward the green. Most people don't make it.
Fast n Furious greens
The course is really in good condition and greens were really fast. I had several chances where I was on green in 2 but had 3-4 putts due to slope on greens. The practice green was as fast as the other greens so I recommend to get your hands accustomed to that before moving on the first tee. It becomes very important here to control the distance as you do not want a downhill putt as you may end up all the way down.
great course to play if you want a challenge
first time at this course and was impressed how long the holes were only been golfing for 6 months and like the challenge will play this course again in warmer weather
This is a beautiful course but...
This is a lovely course but there is no ranging whatsoever. The pace of play is abysmal. Men far outnumber the women and for the most part they completely ignore the courtesy of ready golf There is not a ranger in sight so play progresses at a snail's pace. 5+ hours for a round is becoming quite common place - very unfortunate and so avoidable.
Beautiful Stanley Thompson Design
The crown jewel of the metropatks. Well maintained. Some greens were built with slopes that are really too extreme for todays agronomy advancements. Simpler said, always stay below the hole. Rounds can be tedious due to the stern test of golf, and golfers trying to play a course above their skill level
Slow at Sleepy
Nice weather & fall rates tends to bring out the less skilled player.
Our round took over 5 !/2 hours. No rangers to be found. I love this course and know it's public but the hackers are taking over Sleepy Hollow and this track is not for the novice.
Nice course
Rough needed cutting. A couple of balls were lost, even though they should have been in play.
Large slope, great greens
The best course in the Metroparks system, it wa a private country club long ago. Metroparks keeps this course in excellent condition.
phenominal!
really enjoyed the golf course. Great condition, nice greens, and friendly staff!
This course has great features.
Beautiful scenery combined with challenging and exciting hole layouts make this course wonderful to play on.
The course was in aerification
The course discounted green fee already due to aerification. By golfnow.com I pay the booking fee more than other regular customers who just walked in. Course was not a condition to play, specially green.. But course view was great!!
Great course ruined by slow play!
Great course but very slow play and the rangers thought 5.5 hrs was fast!
Very challenging course. Nice layout
Very nice course layout. Beautiful scenary.staff is very helpful.
Enjoyed playing Sleepy Hollow! Would play it again anytime!
I brought a foursome from Columbus to Cleveland for golf at Sleepy Hollow and an Indians game. The discount through Golf Now made our choice of courses very easy! Everyone in our group was impressed with the course and would return again in the future.
The course has difficult greens
Fast & sloping greens. Excellent fairways. Very challenging.
Sleepy Hollow - A top metropark course
One of the most scenic and challenging metro courses in the Cleveland area. No housing developments, just beautiful natural elevation changes and woods. Tees times books fast on weekends, thanks to the reasonable rates. Lots of challenging holes with tough (fast, slopes, and hard to read) greens. The challenges of the course unfortunately sometime leads to slow play, especially for newcomers. Overall, a must play course in the Cleveland area.
