Top Notch Greens!!!!
Really good greens condition. Wish I had time to play it again. Good pace of play. Staff was friendly & informative to first time guests. Driver is not needed or desired on many par 4s & 5s from the blue tees. Tall grasses off the fairways are definite score killers though, so hit it straight!
Thanks for the 4-star review, MFrise! Be sure to book another round with us when you do find time!
Thanks for the 4-star review, Nolan!
Great Course
First time playing this course. The staff was super friendly and the course looked great!
We're glad you enjoyed your round at Egwani Farms! Be sure to book another tee time with us soon.
Great course
Staff very friendly, great lay out. Very playable. Would come back anytime
We'll see you soon then! Thanks for the 5-star review, we appreciate you taking time to rate us on Golf Advisor.
This course is shapeing up
The course is still a little wet from all the rain. Give it a week or two and this course will be outstanding. Carts with GPS and bag covers. Friendly staff.
Thanks for the 5-star review. There are certainly drier days to come, be sure to book another round with us soon!
Extremely disappointing
I’ve been to Egwani a handful of times, but this was definitely my last. The driving range was only open for hitting off of turf mats. We then had to wait 10 minutes for a cart, despite having a tee time. For early April, the course is in horrible shape. Greens are rough, fairways are spotty and dormant, and tee boxes are average. It took us 3 hours to play the front 9, and 5 hours to play an entire 18. The staff was extremely disrespectful when we mentioned pace of play. For less money, you can go play River Island or Avalon; both of which are a much better value and in better shape.
I appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review, and I'm happy to follow up on some of the issues you had here at our course while playing Saturday afternoon.
First, the driving range is currently mats only because the grass is still dormant coming out of the winter season. Bermuda grass doesn't start to grow until the beginning of May.
Second, if you had to wait for a golf cart that's because we had an outing finishing up from the morning. It was also a sunny, 80-degree day in the first week of April, which means we saw quite a bit of traffic this past Saturday. We had 210 golfers altogether.
I agree with you on pace of play, 5 hours for 18 is certainly slower than ideal. But due to the aforementioned flood we were cart path only this past weekend, and that can sometimes slow pace of play considerably - especially with more than 200 golfers on the course. Our weekend rounds usually run between 4:10 and 4:20.
Regarding course conditions, I'd argue that we're in excellent shape considering the 2-week shutdown in the beginning of March due to a 25-year flood. The greens are arguably in the best shape they've ever been, and that's communicated to us nearly every day by our golfers.
As for the staff, you were asked not to play as a group of six from the start. During the round you were reminded again. Finally, the staff took action and shut your carts down - at which point your group decided to play the remaining holes with the carts in reverse. In cleaning your carts after the round, we also found several bottles of liquor and an 18-pack of Natural Light - neither of which are sold at our facility.
You might not have liked what my staff had to say, and that is unfortunate. But I'd say what's incredibly disrespectful is smuggling large quantities of alcohol onto the course and disregarding repeated requests from staff members.
I apologize if your experience at Egwani Farms didn't meet your expectations, but we have to maintain certain standards to protect the interests of our other golfers. I hope you find what you're looking for at another golf course.

Egwani Farms
OUTSTANDING value for money . . . Driving range and great practice facilities included along with a cart and GPS - enough water and sand to make it really challenging but very fair and a GREAT layout
cancel round two hours before
Golf now reservation 1-28-2019 for 4 @ 10:40am course called golf now 2 hours be for tee time. I had the guys on there way, with this new knowledge I call the course equipped with confirmation in hand. The guy at the course could care less, I ask for a later tee time said they were full until after 2:00pm. Then he said they didn't have that tee time Golf Now was wrong. I ask about any other options with guys on there way, he said we are full. The four average playing this course about once a week for 5 years. We rebooked @ Centinual in Oak Ridge. Awesome
Egwani is one of my favorite courses in East Tennessee. The course is always in excellent shape. They just brought back a superintendent that will only improve the already great conditions! Staff is always helpful and courteous. They know how to run a course like professionals. Definitely worth the money. Its where I bring friends from out of town when visiting to play a round.

Even know we have had so much rain this winter, the course was in great shape. The green went great! Hardly saw a ball mark in them.
Best golf course in East Tennessee
Egwani Farms is the best privately owned public golf course in East Tennessee. It is better than the private courses I have played. The layout is challenging but fair. You will use every club in your bag and every shot in your skill set. The setting is gorgeous in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The practice facilities are great, the staff is very friendly, and the price is right. They even have a great beer selection in the club house bar!
Challenging but not penal
I played this course in late November.... cold weather, dormant grass on the fairways, lighter rough. But what a pleasure to play. The course is challenging but not penal. On most holes, from the tee boxes (that were well maintained and with green grass) you can see the fairway and the hitting area fairly well. A few holes require a decision on club choice from the tee. The in-cart GPS really helps.
Water comes into play on many holes with several lakes and several streams crossing and bordering the course. But wherever the water is found, there is plenty of area to hit to and not get wet. A few greens have water fronting or adjacent but again, the area away from the water is playable and can still get you a good par.
I was pleasantly surprised with the greens. They rolled well and not too slow and the fringes were also well maintained. Made for a good round of 31 putts.
All-in-all, this is a very nice course and one that I will play again when I am in the area.
Totally agree
Thank you so much for the 4-star review of Egwani Farms. Glad to hear you enjoyed your round while you were here with us!
Excellent course
First time at this course and it was nice. Was able to book a tee time through Golf Now for a ridiculously cheap price. Greens and fairways were in great shape. The course is pretty wide open but there is water on several holes and some pretty heavy rough. Several really beautiful holes. Will definitely play this course again.
Maintenance crew did a great job getting all the leaves off this course which makes it much easier to find your ball this time of year. They were working on clearing 18 as we came in to finish up but stopped and let us play through.
Thank you for the 5-star review of Egwani Farms Golf Course. Please come back and tee it up with us again soon!
