Best golf course in East Tennessee
Egwani Farms is the best privately owned public golf course in East Tennessee. It is better than the private courses I have played. The layout is challenging but fair. You will use every club in your bag and every shot in your skill set. The setting is gorgeous in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The practice facilities are great, the staff is very friendly, and the price is right. They even have a great beer selection in the club house bar!
Challenging but not penal
I played this course in late November.... cold weather, dormant grass on the fairways, lighter rough. But what a pleasure to play. The course is challenging but not penal. On most holes, from the tee boxes (that were well maintained and with green grass) you can see the fairway and the hitting area fairly well. A few holes require a decision on club choice from the tee. The in-cart GPS really helps.
Water comes into play on many holes with several lakes and several streams crossing and bordering the course. But wherever the water is found, there is plenty of area to hit to and not get wet. A few greens have water fronting or adjacent but again, the area away from the water is playable and can still get you a good par.
I was pleasantly surprised with the greens. They rolled well and not too slow and the fringes were also well maintained. Made for a good round of 31 putts.
All-in-all, this is a very nice course and one that I will play again when I am in the area.
Excellent course
First time at this course and it was nice. Was able to book a tee time through Golf Now for a ridiculously cheap price. Greens and fairways were in great shape. The course is pretty wide open but there is water on several holes and some pretty heavy rough. Several really beautiful holes. Will definitely play this course again.
Maintenance crew did a great job getting all the leaves off this course which makes it much easier to find your ball this time of year. They were working on clearing 18 as we came in to finish up but stopped and let us play through.
Thank you for the 5-star review of Egwani Farms Golf Course. Please come back and tee it up with us again soon!

Interesting layout
Friendly atmosphere all around. Greens were true, a good speed and fairly easy to read. Enjoyed the day very much at the Egwani Farms.
Frank, thank you so much for the 5-star review of Egwani Farms. Please come back and visit us again soon.
Great set up
Nice layout in excellent condition. Number 11 is a tricky par five that requires you to view the hole before playing. Requires a mid-iron off tee at best or the blind shot will lead to a water ball or lost ball in woods. Number 10 should be stretched out to make a par five and #11 could easily be made into a par four. Very open course that doesn’t demand target shots, except as mentioned above. Very enjoyable round even though heat index was in the low to mid nineties for mid September.
Like the changes - a great test
Love how they opened up the course by cutting all the underbrush down. When all the hard fescue takes over it will look really good. Returned the design to its original intent of a links course
Challenging greens and beautiful course
Fast greens and pin placement made today's round very challenging. The GPS on the cart was very helpful and the free driving range and practice area was great. The course was beautiful and had several unique holes. It was worth the drive and I will play there again.
I had a challenging round of golf
The starter assigned me to golf with three players. The golfers were very good and I played my best. The
Staff did a great great job taking care of the course. I look forward to golfing there again.
Nice course. Acomadating and courteous staff
Will definitely be back! Going to make this my regular course.
Just keeps getting better
The greens are superb, fairways are great . The par fives 11 and18 are hokey just don’t like laying up off the tee box, it’s a par 5 time to let the big dog eat not lay up. Don’t get me wrong it’s still a great course. The staff are friendly and courteous. They put some money back in the course and it’s paid off.
Nice little Diamond in the ruff!
Invited another couple to play this Course for all of us first time. It was a nice surprise, plenty of character with challenging greens.
Definitely will come back even though it is 1 1/2 drive. The only thing that would be nice is if they had some yardage markers as some holes would be nice to see where your at even with stat of the art gps on the carts, which was awesome.
Totally agree
