Hole #11 is crazy
I played Egwani for a bargain; $25 from Golf Now. I wish it was closer to the house.
For the most part this track is right out in front of you. The tee boxes and fairways are in good shape and the greens were firm and smooth. Not overly quick. There are several water hazards that come into play on 8 or 9 holes.
Hole #11 is crazy. This par 5 (from the one ups) requires a 210ish shot uphill to a blind landing area. From there you have a long iron or hybrid off a cliff, over a pond and depending on your angle around some trees. Two good shots should leave you within 100 yards for your third shot. It's quite a ride.
Overall fun course that will surely be in the rotation.
p.s.
it you arrive early you'll be greeted by the nicest course dog. She looks imposing but she's just looking for treats that the regulars pack along in their bags. She also likes to howl along with the train that skirts the property.
Good deal on Golfnow
This course's rack rate is overpriced for the condition and the area. Through Golfnow the price reflects the true value.
Wet weather made some fairways mushy, but overall in average condition. Several hole layouts are unfair and just crazy. Hit to landing area, make a right turn and blow over the brush and trees or hit to the forward tees and hope you hit it without going into the water. Unusual ...
This course is very well maintained
Fairways play like a plush carpet, but strategically placed bunkers on several holes can make things interesting . Front greens are in better shape than back 9.
Worth Playing
Fairways were in very good shape but several greens were rough. Friendly staff. Course was crowded when we played so took over 4 hrs for 18 holes. Overall I liked the course well enough to play there again--hole 11 had an excellent layout.
A couple of tweets needed. .
Very nice course except for #11...
It's a par 5 and I couldn't hit more than a 5 iron off the tee...you should not have to worry about hitting driver on a 500+ yd hole...
Also...the yardage markers were pretty much non existent on the tees and fairways...that would speed up play and make the course more enjoyable to play...
Wish I would've played more
It was a great course. The staff was awesome. And the layout and scenery were beautiful. Plus the greens were in great shape which is not typical of surrounding courses.
Greens rolled nicely
The weather was kind of lousy being overcast and rainy all morning but the course was in great shape for the amount of rain that day and the days before. It was rather windy too which gave the course some more defense otherwise its not a terribly difficult course if you keep the ball in play. Even with it being cart path only, the pace of play was great after a group of senior citizens let us play thru after the 3rd hole. The only con about this course is hole #11. Kind of a weird set up for a par 5 where you have to hit a short iron off the tee just to keep it in play but it definitely makes you think and work to make par.
average overpricd course
ALLOWED 3 FOURSOMES TO PLAY 4 MAN BEST BALL WE WAITED EVERY STINKIN SHOT FAIRWAYS SOGGY AND NEEDED MOWING BUKKERS WERE WASHED OUT, FULL OF WATER AND UNPLAYABLE COURSE IS POORLY MARKED FOR YARDAGE GOOD LUCK KNOWING WERE YOU ARE ONLY FEATURES ARE WATER AND SAND DONT BLOW 50 BUCKS HERE IT IS RARE NOT TO ENJOY A ROUND OF GOLF ANYWHERE BUT I WAS GLAD WHEN THIS ROUND WAS OVER
Great course, soon to be even better
Hard to ding them for making improvements to the course, it just happened to coincide with the day we decided to play. They are adding some drainage enhancements to some of the holes. The greens were in great shape and rolled very true. Always an enjoyable place to play.
Maintenance underway
I enjoy this course. It is challenging for me.
They are doing grounds/water drainage maintenance on the course, so started on the back 9.
#2, a par 5, was converted to a par 3.
We had had a lot of rain the prior week, so the fairways were wet and there was much clumped grass discharge on the fairway, so esthetically not up to the usual standard.
Challenging but fair
Our foursome played at about 9:30 AM on Wed. July 1. The course was in remarkably good condition considering the rain it has received in the last 2 weeks. Mowers and work being done on the course were a bit of a distraction but overall it was a great day. We will certainly be back after the repairs on hole # 5 are completed.
Needs some work
Course is not in the typical Egwani condition. Greens were in great shape but very slow (need mowing), the fairways still not grown in several areas, hole number two playing as par 3 due to drainage work, many cart paths need repaving and some have sections that have been repaved, bunkers need some work and better sand. Have seen some improvements to parking lot, new signage, repaving sections of cart paths, and work being done on the course. New management seems to be spending some money on the course.
However the eighteenth fairway is as plush as I have seen. Enjoy playing this layout.
Fun Course!
Very challenging and strategic! Bunkers need sand but that's it! Great course!
Egwani
Bad fairways, poor bunker maintenance, and electrical lines running through the course. Not ideal. The practice facility was pretty good.
Not a bad price
This course is in decent shape. If you book through golfnow rate, it is worth playing. The course needs work to get it to up to par for there regular prices. I will back up the other reviews posted for this time frame. Hole 1 is out of play right now do to some work on the course. I hope this is a good sign.
Not great
Course is not like it used to be bunkers were terrible no sand at all greens were OK but the fairways were awful and cart paths are in bad shape looks like nothing is being done to improve conditions
Good course with some water challenges
Egwani is a pretty good course with several challenging
water holes. The greens are in good shape and putt well, but the fairway grass is not quite in this time of year...
loved it
this was the first time playing this course and i would recommend it the only small problem i encountered was the traps were a little scarce on sand
Challenging but great
The front 9 is challenging with water in play on most holes. The back 9 is more open but not easy. I felt this was a great course and I had an amazing time. The deal on golfnow.com was the reason I played this course. Now I will try to play this course on a regular basis.
Egwani Farm Golf Course
Nice course with wide open fairways and some water. One or two holes were "blind" to the green, and the water was not visible from the tee.
All in all, a fun day.
would gladly play again, at the price that I paid thru Golfnow.
Regular green fees are a little steep.
