Under Constrution but still nice
Over all the course is in good shape. Number five was closed and seven green side bunker was a mess. The rest of the course was very nice. Love the on cart GPS system, very helpful. There are two par 5 ,11, and 18 that are sort of mickey mouse. On 11 from the senior tee you hit 8 iron off the tee, 5 wood and pitching wedge in. and 18, 3 wood twice. Just does not seem right not to hit Driver on par 5. The Greens are great and have some speed. On the turn you can crab a sandwich and a drink and not loose your position. After construction is complete this will be a true gem of a course.
A couple of quirky holes but overall, fairly open and flat.
18 hole course that backs up to a small river. Most holes run parallel to each other so not much OB other than on the perimeter. Primarily flat but with a couple of holes squeezed into a hillside. Overall, conditions are better than average but based on previous experience, this course can stay wet if it's had any recent rain. Good course to walk. Worth playing, and a good value as a GolfNow Hot Deal.
Staff friendly and gave veteran discount
Greens in great shape and had been rolled prior to 0715 round. Only complaint is i wish they had rolled the collars and borders of collars due to no option of putting 2-5 yds off of green, grass was trimmed tight and difficult to chip for most amatuers.
Egwani GC-Solid
Course is in very good condition! Greens as good as I've seen them. Bent grass greens are in excellent condition, smooth and fast (estimate 10.5-11 in stimpmeter). Little on the firm side as they will hold a high shot but tricky chipping and pitching around the greens. For the money $25(Golfnow), one of the best values in East Tennessee. From what the staff in the pro shop said they will be closing the course down in June/July and replacing the current greens with champions Bermuda and repairing some of the cart paths(they were rough in places). Still trying to figure out what they can do with number 11 as it's a poorly designed 5par. 11 would make a terrific 3par or very interesting 4par, but with the current design and tree configuration it's and ill suited 5par IMO. Overall, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.
Course upgrades
Ive played this course before many times but this time was different. My understanding is that they recently got new golf carts, could have gotten them last season, they are amazing with very comfortable seats and a touch screen GPS. Which if your like me you like to know exactly how far away you are from the pin to make sure you make a accurate club choice. Greens were in great condition!
Always good
In good shape as always. Play was slow due to cart path only. 11 is the only bad hole on the course. The other 17 are fun.
Fantastic Course
Great course with fantastic conditions. Fairways cut nice; greens were fast and hard; great time.
The staff was friendly and aware as to the pace of play of the golfers on the course
I had made a tee time the night before. When I arrived the staff told me that there was a tournament in progress and was aware of the pace of the golfers that were on the course. They started me at the 10th hole and During play there were players following four holes behind me. There was nobody behind me so There was no waiting. I look forward to golfing there again.
Great course
Course was in great condition. The only complaint I had was the course wasn't crowded but they wasn't allowing twosomes out. We got paired up with a twosome that was not friendly at all which dampened the round on a very nice course
The course is good and fun to play. The staff needs more training in customer service procedures.
It's a good course and fun to play but not the greatest course around.
fun round of golf
overcast skies, fairways good great shape greens, cart path needs work..i am 74 shot 75
Good place to play
Played during the UT /Alabama game. So not many people there!! We got done in under 3 hours! That's the way I like to play!!
Hole #11 is crazy
I played Egwani for a bargain; $25 from Golf Now. I wish it was closer to the house.
For the most part this track is right out in front of you. The tee boxes and fairways are in good shape and the greens were firm and smooth. Not overly quick. There are several water hazards that come into play on 8 or 9 holes.
Hole #11 is crazy. This par 5 (from the one ups) requires a 210ish shot uphill to a blind landing area. From there you have a long iron or hybrid off a cliff, over a pond and depending on your angle around some trees. Two good shots should leave you within 100 yards for your third shot. It's quite a ride.
Overall fun course that will surely be in the rotation.
p.s.
it you arrive early you'll be greeted by the nicest course dog. She looks imposing but she's just looking for treats that the regulars pack along in their bags. She also likes to howl along with the train that skirts the property.
Good deal on Golfnow
This course's rack rate is overpriced for the condition and the area. Through Golfnow the price reflects the true value.
Wet weather made some fairways mushy, but overall in average condition. Several hole layouts are unfair and just crazy. Hit to landing area, make a right turn and blow over the brush and trees or hit to the forward tees and hope you hit it without going into the water. Unusual ...
This course is very well maintained
Fairways play like a plush carpet, but strategically placed bunkers on several holes can make things interesting . Front greens are in better shape than back 9.
Worth Playing
Fairways were in very good shape but several greens were rough. Friendly staff. Course was crowded when we played so took over 4 hrs for 18 holes. Overall I liked the course well enough to play there again--hole 11 had an excellent layout.
A couple of tweets needed. .
Very nice course except for #11...
It's a par 5 and I couldn't hit more than a 5 iron off the tee...you should not have to worry about hitting driver on a 500+ yd hole...
Also...the yardage markers were pretty much non existent on the tees and fairways...that would speed up play and make the course more enjoyable to play...
Wish I would've played more
It was a great course. The staff was awesome. And the layout and scenery were beautiful. Plus the greens were in great shape which is not typical of surrounding courses.
Greens rolled nicely
The weather was kind of lousy being overcast and rainy all morning but the course was in great shape for the amount of rain that day and the days before. It was rather windy too which gave the course some more defense otherwise its not a terribly difficult course if you keep the ball in play. Even with it being cart path only, the pace of play was great after a group of senior citizens let us play thru after the 3rd hole. The only con about this course is hole #11. Kind of a weird set up for a par 5 where you have to hit a short iron off the tee just to keep it in play but it definitely makes you think and work to make par.
average overpricd course
ALLOWED 3 FOURSOMES TO PLAY 4 MAN BEST BALL WE WAITED EVERY STINKIN SHOT FAIRWAYS SOGGY AND NEEDED MOWING BUKKERS WERE WASHED OUT, FULL OF WATER AND UNPLAYABLE COURSE IS POORLY MARKED FOR YARDAGE GOOD LUCK KNOWING WERE YOU ARE ONLY FEATURES ARE WATER AND SAND DONT BLOW 50 BUCKS HERE IT IS RARE NOT TO ENJOY A ROUND OF GOLF ANYWHERE BUT I WAS GLAD WHEN THIS ROUND WAS OVER
