About
Grand Oaks Golf Club enjoys a peaceful, tranquil setting among century-old oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. The course is as challenging as it is scenic with tree-lined fairways and small greens that will test your accuracy. It may have a traditional design but there is still some bite to this round. There are several strategically placed bunkers that lurk greenside to challenge you even further. Two meandering creeks weave along the golf course as well, coming into play on a few holes. The layout has a nice mix of holes from reachable par 5s to tough par 3s. Grand Oaks Golf Club is a fair test that is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. There are some birdie opportunities available if you play it smart and it's forgiving enough for high handicappers to approach with confidence.

Ok, I Guess
The clubhouse looks like 1970 threw up. The greens are hard but slow, and patchy with sand on some of them. There is water where you cant see it, so if you don't know the course, you will lose balls thinking that you hit a good shot. The saving grace is that it is cheap to play and the staff is pretty friendly.

Pace was great
We were able to plat a three hour and twenty five minute round on Saturday morning ! That alone is why I'm going back next week.

Nice Layout...Small Greens
Really Like the layout and challenging holes. Only call it is how small the greens are and when it is dry, they are almost impossible to hold the ball on the green.

Needs attention
The parking lot is dismal. You park I front of an abandoned building that needs to be condemned. Curb appeal is a representation of the actual course. The “clubhouse”/ bar is weird. The course is terrible. Fairways are just mowed weeds. When looking for a place to play this is cheaper than other courses and it is for a reason. Would not play again.

Solid course for the money
We teed off at sunrise, so pace of play was not an issue. Fairways and greens in good condition. Lots of water and crowned greens. A good value when compared to other area courses that charge $20-30 more.

Morning Golfer
Enjoyed an early morning round. Nice pace of play—3 1/2 hour round. Course in good condition. Elevated Greens require an extra club on approaches. Greens a bit slow but rolled true. Mostly wide fairways, but a few holes require precise drives to avoid water and the beautiful trees lining the fairways. Nice mature course. A good value at a good course.

Wonderful course wonderful staff
The real MVPs are Jimmy and his dog Ashley. Such a great Marshall who makes the experience enjoyable for even the most beginner of golfers. Definitely will be back

Great course at a great price
Course in great condition, 2nd time playing there greens a little on the slow side today but ran true. The addition of the water on most holes makes the course a challenge. Staff are always friendly and this is better qualIty than some $90 courses.

Course is in great shape
The course is in great shape, tee to green. I made three 20-foot putts today, not just because of my amazing putting skills, but also because the greens are in such great shape - very uniform, smooth, no bare spots. I've played at Grand Oaks a few times a year for the past decade, and it's currently in the best shape I've ever seen it. After the February deep freeze, things were a little rough this past Spring. But all of the work I saw going on then to repair sprinklers, reseed the patchy areas damaged by the freeze, etc. have come to fruition given the excellent shape the courses in now. No issues with irrigation or utility easements or any of that from the past years either. This is a gem of course in the mid cities , a great in-between course for my dad in Fort Worth and me Dallas to meet up and play. I'm glad to see it's thriving and being so well maintained.
