About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Nice but...
Course was nice with the exception of the tee boxes. Most of them were literally dirt only. We played from anywhere we could find grass which was never between the actual tee markers.
Thank you for playing! We are in the process of working on our tee boxes as some certainly do need help. We are seeding them this week and they should bounce back quickly with some help from mother nature.
Some tee boxes were in poor shape but the course was otherwise good. I felt it was good value considering my round came with a cart.

Needs some work
The blue tee boxes were horrible. Several holes were just dirt. It was cart path only all day which added to the frustration. Fairways and greens were okay.

Enjoyable Round
Good variation of holes, acceptable conditions for the price esp since its mid-summer, overall good value. Have played a handful of times this year
Little Rough
The greens and fairways were in decent shape. The tee boxes were horrible with little to no grass. I thought the pass of play was okay but towards the back 9 slowed to a craw. This was my first time playing this course and while the layout was okay and offered some challenges I think the value just wasn’t there.
OK course but rude starter
Played this course for the second time ever because I liked the layout despite the questionable conditions (tee and greens not very good) and the price for it. However a rude starter will prevent me from coming back or recommending it. Starter implied he mentioned cpo on 1 and 9 but didn't and rudely reprimanded me. The kicker is his reasoning is that it is always cpo. Hello? How would someone who is not a regular know this? Soured the rest of the round.
Love this course....
You can expect some bottlenecks on the front 9, but overall not bad. Upkeep is very good and the greens are always pretty immaculate. Some really picturesque holes for being so close to the city. Love this course and play as often as I can. Top notch compared to the other 3 or 4 courses in the vicinity.

In terrible shape
Course is absolutely gone. I’ve played here many times over the years but it is the worst I’ve ever seen it. I played twilight and it was $45 and felt like I got ripped off. Course is a $5-10 muni. Pace of play is terrible. There’s a few kids running the show who could care less. We sat 15 minutes on every tee box starting on 2nd hole. Took us over 1:15 to play 4 holes until we started driving around course to other holes just to play some golf. Just awful.
We are very sorry about the pace of play! It has been very difficult during COVID to marshal appropriately with so many players walking. As for $5 value, we aren't sure any course could remain open for $5. Conditions have been very good this year besides a few spots.
