Pleasant Valley Golf Club
About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Excellent golf
Conditions of PV were better than I've seen in years. Tee to green, most every home was near perfect. Great test of golf especially when the wind is up, like it was today. Got a Hot Deal for $50 too.
Shank handling covid-19
Paid to have a cart as walking with an artificial hip and knee is difficult. When I arrived was told they couldn’t provide me a cart due to the number of people playing and covid-19 restrictions would not allow sharing. Fortunately another player who I didn’t know was willing to walk. Paid full green fee and would not accommodate my situation. Will not return to this course again.
Okay course
Well. I live in Maryland and only places I could play golf are in VA. I found a deal and played here for the first time. But, I don't think I will come back here to play. Compared to MD golf course, VA golf course overall are not in good condition. This one didn't really care the condition well and especially rough wasn't cut right. Greens and fairways were okay but not great. layout was simple . overll course wasn't difficult.
Great course!
Course in great shape! Tees, fairways, and greens all good!
Not enough bang for the buck!
The course has had a lot of play and it shows on the tees, fairways and greens. In addition, there is no walking rate for those who rather walk during social distancing. There are better values out there than this one.
Definitely Pleasant
I had a great time playing Pleasant Valley. The course was in excellent shape, and the staff was friendly. The snack bar wasn’t much to write home about, but I don’t play golf so I can find the world’s best snack bar. I will be back soon.
Pleasant Valley golf club
Nice layout with rolling fairways. Aeration on greens but needed a little more sand.
Underrated Northern Virginia Course
It's been a couple of years since I had played Pleasant Valley after moving east and closer to Washington, DC. I played it this morning and found it to be in better shape than I remembered. The greens had been aerated recently but still rolled really well. Rough was consistent and the fairways were in really good shape. Even the bunkers, which presumably haven't been raked much during COVID-19, were very playable in the fairway and around the green. Pleasant Valley is a really firm, but fair test of golf. It's a nice balance of risk-reward and holes that you can attack or play conservatively. I will be heading back to PVGC soon...and so should you!
Fun course
Course was in excellent condition all around. Greens, fairways and bunkers in great shape. Pace was good and I look forward to playing again now that I've learned more about where you want to be on the course for positioning. Staff was friendly and trying to adhere to COVID safety considerations.
Meh
The staff working that day seemed young & in return that’s what you get as far as customer service. Meaning no one stayed at their station very long. It was my first time there so a little direction on how to get to the driving range or the first tee would’ve been nice. But The course lay out was great. Definitely has the ability to be a worth the amount they charge if some slight upgrades were made to the course. Only thing that was nearly unbearable was the cart path. Dear God it was awful. On every hole.
Other than that the greens rolled true. The fairways were well maintained. No diseased patches. Big shout out to the superintendent.
Solid.
Hard course from the tips when the wind is gusting at 25mph. Great course though. Greens rolled well, fairways in great shape, cart paths horrific. Walk and you’ll be fine.
Nice pre-spring course
Breezy and beautiful spring day on a nice course with excellent bunkers with actual sand. Now if only management would invest in some decent cart paths. Your average dirt road road has less pot holes. I'm not sure if my brain has stopped rattling around in my scull yet? I would return but only if I can drive on the fairway!
Impressive
With MD and DC courses shut down, I"ve been playing a lot of VA courses and this is top 3 for public courses without a doubt. Our group was a little slow today, but if you're not allowing 4.5 hours for a round of golf these days, what's wrong with you?! The wind made it harder for sure, especially on the back nine where there's water and some very long par 4's.
Great value
Excellent layout, friendly staff, well maintained. Defined worth the price.I played lousy but enjoyed the course. 5 stars.
