About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Played after severe rain
I played this course during the COVID 19 pandemic because all Maryland Courses were closed. It was tough finding a time anywhere. We also had 30 hours of rain leading up to the round. We almost cancelled for fear of how bad the conditions might be. I’m glad we played. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised
( no pun intended). We played 18 in under 4 hours. The layout was nice and the greens were very good for the amount of play and the amount of rain just received. There were a few ponds where ponds were not intended, but Drained nicely and would definitely come back. Thanks for Satisfying my golf itch.
Fun Layout
I like the layout of the course with some fun and challenging holes. The only negative I have is that the cart paths are in desperate need of replacement in many places and repair in others. Teeth charting holes were hidden under some fresh rain today.
Course was in decent shape as it had rained a ton for the past couple of days. Greens were in good condition too

First Timer
Pleasant Valley is a great course to play. The scenery is beautiful, the fairways are well groomed and the greens are extremely well maintained.
I’m definitely coming back!
First timer
First time playing course and was in great shape for being early in the year. A pretty easy course overall to walk. My only peeve is the starter would not let us take a cart for each individual. No notice stating the policy until we got there. One for us had to walk and no credit was offered and wasn't very apologetic about the situation. If you walk it's not a problem.

Too many pothole with the waters on carpaths and need to clean bathrooms.
Looks like to do no more business very soon.
Good track
I’m good shape, rate was good as well. Pace was slow but there are several par fives followed by par threes (and then another par five in one case) so that will log jam any golf course. I enjoyed it, par threes are tough except one pretty easy one. Plays every yard from the back.

Way too crowded
In the middle of the pandemic, golf courses are one of the few options remaining to get outdoors. But this was ridiculous. I quit at the 14 hole after a birdie. Just too much waiting around. There were 3 groups the 15th hole. That’s too many
This course is fairly well maintained and staff are friendly.
We play a three some today. Unfortunately it's cart path only but the fairway is fairly well maintained with only a few patches of muddy areas.
