Pleasant Valley Golf Club

It's the beginning of the season so the conditions are what's to be expected. The greens were very bumpy and rough. The tee boxes also need triming and work. But, the folks were nice and accomodating. It took about 5 hours to play the round, but it was as beautiful day, so who cares.

I was somewhat disappointed with the state of the greens. I can't say there was a single one I'd remotely consider to be in good shape. The winter months clearly were not kind to them. I know it's early in the season and the winter definitely took its toll. There really didn't seem to be a whole lot of evidence that any attention has been given to bring them around anytime soon. Hopefully that'll change soon. I still enjoyed my round with great playing partners and the best weather of the young season by far. I liked the layout although I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of split fairways. The middle of the fairway is no place to stick a tree. The only real sour note was the pace of play. I don't care if it is Saturday afternoon, 5 hours is way too long for a round of golf. Lets pick up the pace duffers!!!! I'll definitely be back for another go but will probably wait another month or so hoping the greens get the attention they deserve. Good course with potential to be very good.

The course opens up beautifully to all types of drives, but the green only accept fairway driven well. The conditions were in good shape the this time of year, I would play this course anytime, but its too far me me to come out and pay the regular price. The discount was worth playing here.

Pretty solid layout and conditions were good for mid-February. Round was SLOW though. 4hrs and 45 mins on a 40 degree in February.

Considering the weather and time of year, the course was in excellent shape.

Overall condition of course is very good. Since I am a beginner, the broad fairways lessen my burden. But the greens and bunkers are really challenging, I think. They might be working this but the signposts of the holes are missing.

An enjoyable day was spent on this course. The greens and most tee blocks are in reasonable good condition, however some of the fairways need a little work since they are a bit chopped up from play.

This course has some challenging and fun holes, but ovcerall provides a good golfing experience.

When I played the course was in great shape, well maintained, and it's really entertaining. Fun and keeps you on your toes.
The downside is 2 fold.
1) for the same money you can play some of the really good courses in the area, with much better quality facilities.
2) and this is the biggie, the staff are badly in need of retraining for customer service. They seem treat everybody the same. Disciplinarian attitude as if we all a bunch of riff raft that looking to break every rule in the book. Yes, golf is about rules and etiquette, but to be treated like a naughty school boy when I'm way over 50, pah. From the starters to the superintendent, it's an attitude that runs through the place. I advise, they go to Westfields or Bull Run and see how it's done properly.
