Great Time
Great value for the Fredericksburg area. Course is challenging. Greens are super hard to stay on-small.Watch out on #9 green if you're above the cup, ball went 20' past when barely missed.GPS does not work due to changes in course from previous lay-out.This may just be that I need to update my watch.Give this course a try.
very good
The course was very good after the 7" of rain
several holes are easy to get close to the green and
your chipping and putting needs to be good
Great views from Tee's
Greens were good, approaches & fairways need attention.
For the price, it's a good value
Poor
Fairways bad shape and tee boxes greens ok WILL NEVER PLAY AGAIN
course is good for the money
thee course was very nice. the greens were fast. the fairways were brown but was very good. i would recomend to anyone to try.
a good afternoon of golf
4 players had a good round of golf, at a great rate. need to watch the rough, Interesting course
Newly redone
Reopened last year after being redone. Nice mix of easy and challenging holes.
Firm Greens
Good course have to keep ball in the fairway to score, must be able to play off uneven lies. Each hole gives you different looks. Look forward to playing these greens during the summer.
The course was in decent condition
The overall condition of the course was good considering the time of year and previous wet weather. The greens were in very good condition except for #8. Very hilly and good layout.
Worth the Drive
I drove from Pa to play because we had snow around here. I brought my wife and the course didn't mind her riding along like some of the other courses and didn't even get charge for her. That was nice the staff even came out after we got done playing to see how we like the course. A friend of mind told me that I might not like the course I think he was wrong!
This course has some interesting holes.
The nines have been switch since it was Summerset, so if you have a GPS start on #10 which is #1. The greens are some of the best I have seen, very true and quicker than most. The fairways are well defined and will be nice in the summer. There are some hidden hazards (tall grass and bunkers) if you hit the ball in the wrong place which cost me strokes. There are too many short par 4's for my liking but the longer par 4's are challenging. This is a good buy for the Golfnow special price and I would recommend it for that price.
Great layout.
Well kept up fairways and greens. Tee boxes need work. A lot of up and down with doglegs all over. Could use more ball washers and cart path needs some work. Great clubhouse. Very friendly staff. Would be nice to have each hole pictured at each tee box. New carts. With some more work will be one of the best in the entire area.
great value
for people like me who shoot mid 80s to mid 90s this course is very enjoyable, everything is reachable and the greens are in great shape.
Re-Opened With A Vengence!!!!
I loved this course before, and now that they're are under new ownership and management, they are headed in the right direction to become one of the best courses in the region!! The greens were in amazing shape and still as small as ever!!! Really puts an ephasis on your accuracy!! Love how they flipped the 9's too!!! You must play this course now because next spring you'll be able to see the progress that they will make in the off season and be able to respect that this course is a contender!!!
This course is great for Intermediate players
The course has some really great high points overlooking the fairway that make starting off amazing. It can be very narrow at times, so if you have a wild swing make sure you get that taken care of before coming out here because this course will force you to up your game and strategize your play. Beware the 9th hole is an uphill battle that doesn't end at the top. With some good friends and enough beers this course can be perfect.
Good course for the price
Not a bad course at all only paid $15 only need driver for a few holes better to play it safe interesting angles and choices long hitters and short hitters with score the same
Course under new management
Course was in bankruptcy from old owners. .if they spend some money and give it some attention the course will be a good one ...Please keep the price down
Great greens, tight fairways, blind shots
In all fairness, I was struggling with a left-pull tendency that resulted in many balls going into trouble. That said, this course has less than generous fairways in width and many blind shots. I had never played the course before and the front and back nines were reversed on my Garmin Approach GPS. I guessed at many of the club selections, and not always correctly. I missed a lot of fairways and lost several golf balls. From the back tees, which I played (they are Red, by the way...different), there were several forced carries of 150 - 200 yards...consider that in your tee selection process.
The fairways are well-maintained and the greens are in super shape. The tee boxes, however, were hard and in poor condition.
The course has character, elevation changes and doglegs galore. Some of the greens are tucked away surrounded by trees on three sides. One hole has two creeks running across it that must be negotiated and another has a very steep uphill fairway to an elevated green. So it is definitely not a vanilla-flavored layout.
I was disappointed that I was not allowed to walk the course, but instead was required to use a golf cart. It would have been a challenging, but rewarding walk.
This golf course is in a community, and on some holes the houses border the fairway. On one tee shot, I could easily listen to the cell phone conversation of a woman on her back yard deck.
Overall, a decent track. To score well accuracy and directional control are a must.
Very fun and challenging
A pretty tight golf course with great fairways and fantastic scoring opportunities. That is, if you can navigate through the trees.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
We are sorry you did not enjoy your experience at Rapidan. We hope you will be back and try again. With the late spring and cold winter, the Bermuda grass fairways were 4 weeks behind in coming out of winter hibernation, something all local courses were dealing with. Thank you for your feedback!
