Great greens, tight fairways, blind shots

In all fairness, I was struggling with a left-pull tendency that resulted in many balls going into trouble. That said, this course has less than generous fairways in width and many blind shots. I had never played the course before and the front and back nines were reversed on my Garmin Approach GPS. I guessed at many of the club selections, and not always correctly. I missed a lot of fairways and lost several golf balls. From the back tees, which I played (they are Red, by the way...different), there were several forced carries of 150 - 200 yards...consider that in your tee selection process.

The fairways are well-maintained and the greens are in super shape. The tee boxes, however, were hard and in poor condition.

The course has character, elevation changes and doglegs galore. Some of the greens are tucked away surrounded by trees on three sides. One hole has two creeks running across it that must be negotiated and another has a very steep uphill fairway to an elevated green. So it is definitely not a vanilla-flavored layout.

I was disappointed that I was not allowed to walk the course, but instead was required to use a golf cart. It would have been a challenging, but rewarding walk.

This golf course is in a community, and on some holes the houses border the fairway. On one tee shot, I could easily listen to the cell phone conversation of a woman on her back yard deck.

Overall, a decent track. To score well accuracy and directional control are a must.

Very fun and challenging

A pretty tight golf course with great fairways and fantastic scoring opportunities. That is, if you can navigate through the trees.

Will NEVER return

I purchased a "hot deal" from golfnow for $20 thinking almost any course is worth $20 for 18 holes. I arrive to the proshop and inform the man of my reservation. He tells me it will be $40, I told him that I had reserved it for $20 on golfnow. He said its $40 for everyone. So, I went ahead and paid the $40. I asked where the driving range is, and to my surprise there isn't one. So I venture to the first tee box, which is full of brown patches of crab grass. Honestly, I've seen more grass in a playground sand box. That set the tone for the entire round. Tee boxes are not flat and have very little grass. The front 9 is described as a "Scottish links" setting. What that really means is there is tons of unmowed grass and weeds. The back 9 is better, shady and better grass. Overall, very disappointed by the course. I could see this course charging $25 on a Sunday until they get it together.

Very challenging.

Course was in good shape. Love the elevation changes on some of the holes. They probably had to call in a Hazmat crew to clean up all the blood I left on the course today. We had some slow players in front of us that was slowing the pace

New course needs a little work

Overall a good experience, Bermuda fairways and bent greens. Tee boxes need some work, found that I had an awkward stance on several tee boxes. It only opened two weeks ago, but if they keep putting some money into it, we should have a new fun and very challenging course off Route 3.

Good value for a Poor Man's Royal New Kent

Fun and challenging course. The layout is dynamite. Forces you to be accurate and creative with shots. Billed as Scottish links style the course reminds me of Royal New Kent. A poor man's version in both course condition and cost. Course conditions not terrible but could be improved. Fairways rate 3 out of 5 bit shaggy; greens 3 1/2 out of 5; Cost rates 5 out of 5. Overall experience was enjoyable; will play again. With maturity and maintenance the course could be 4 star however not their yet. Oh yeah, ball in rough is lost; hit a provisional.

I burn this course up bros!

The course is challenging.....not for me, but for some. Fun course to play, makes you hit golf shots as opposed to basketball shots I suppose. I never really understood that statement.
