Sleepy Hole Golf Course

Love this course, go at least once a month, tough and challenging but very fun. Short Par 3 balance out the long Par 5s. One of the most beautiful courses in Southern VA.

Solid public GC designed by Russell Breeden. Greens are built up with lots of undulation and charm. Layout made the best of the land given with one hole with terrific water views. Conditions were good during my round.

The staff was friendly. The rocks and lack of sand in the bunkers made them unplayable.

Will try to come back when the Bermuda grass is not dormant.

First time playing, great course withbsome challenging holes. Staff was very freindly and helpful!.

This is either my 3rd or 4th time playing at Sleepy Hole on a Saturday afternoon and it is always super slow. Each round i have played has easily crossed the 5 hr mark with just myself and another player. I know some days are slow but seems like every Saturday there is a tournament for members causing slow play. There is no ranger to tell teams to pick up the pace of play. It's a shame because the course is nice and it's a decent price but pace of play has really killed it for me. I won't be going back to Sleepy Hole anytime soon.

Staff is friendly and accommodating. Always pretty slow pace of play but great course and fun layout.

Fairways were surprisingly dry enough to handle carts. Considering the high volume of play, the course is well maintained. I remember the course when it hosted the LPGA The course has had its challenges over the last 35 years but it is a good track for the money.
