The course is nice... however some players are not
I never had a player intentionally pocket my ball and he pretended it was his... shame shame. He was well out of my range came back looking for his ball found mine and picked it up and the nerve to fix the ball mark what in the world lol lol
Bottom Fell Out
Played for the first time. Made it 10 holes before the bottom fell out...absolutely poured so we had to end our round. Wasnt too upset since we had a hot deal price. The course had challenges here and there, but was on the dry side since it hadnt rained in weeks.. Overall was a pretty decent course.
Dry and hardpan
I love the course but due to the lack of rain in Virginia, Most courses are extremely dry and create an on desirable bounce when hitting down with irons especially short irons. Need either rain or wait till the fall for the conditions to really improve.
Love This Course
have played SH several times over the past three years. Kind of a hidden gem, if you don't know about it. Greens are in terrific shape. fairways were hard and fast. (REALLY need some rain here.). Number 18 is one of the great closing holes in the region, bar none.
Great Course
Great layout, relatively flat, minimum water hazards.
Greens in great shape. Fairways dry from lack of rain.
Course crowded (high school match several holes in front of us), had to wait on most shots, but we were still able to finish in 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Employees courteous and friendly.
Basic Golf
Need a place to play and work on your game? This is it. Slow play because most are playing their ego and not their actual game. Price is right, so give it a go.
Too SLOW pace of play
Most people don't care about COVID-19. The staff paired up with strangers, played three or four times at tea time, and probably no one wore a mask. The pace of play was too slow because of the staff's excessive pairing. The round took a total of five hours, more than half of which were waiting for a tee shot from the front team.
