Value
Buddy and me got on for a late tee time today and we left the course both agreeing that this was some of the most enjoyable golf we have played in a while. Not a long course but the track is perfect for golfers of all skill levels. The course is in solid shape right now making it one of the best values in the area.

This is an old school course that’s usually in great shape

Better Than Expected
Greens were a lot better than the last time I played this a year ago. They were really fast and pretty consistent throughout. Fairways are not the best but besides that it is definitely worth the money.
Country Golf At It’s Finest
Eddie Luke and staff do an amazing job with this muni that was built in the 50’s...Bermuda fairways and hybrid Bermuda greens that roll really fast and true...it’s a beauty set amongst tall pines in a country setting. Truly a throwback to another time. I’ve been playing this course for 30 years...actually learned how to play using this course....she’s 6200 from the tips but plays longer than it’s stated yardage. A must play if you are in the Hampton Roads area!!!
Hidden Gem
Me and a buddy play all over the Hampton Roads area and this course surprised us big time. Fun layout, pretty decent conditions (especially considering the time of year), and it was cheap. Staff was friendly. It's a bit out of the way for me but we will definitely go back. Look forward to playing it in the summer when it's warm out.

Real gem for the price
The course was very well maintained and the natural beauty around the course was awesome great. I was pretty much the first one off in the morning so no problems with pace of play but even when I finished there were very few cars in the parking lot. I would definitely recommend you try this one out!
Great Course for the price
Worth more than the “Hot Deal” of $15 ($20 Total). Well manicured fairways and greens. Greens are a smidge slower than expected, so keep that in mind when putting. Not a complaint but, you can lose your ball fairly easy if you’re outside the fairways on a few holes. That’s not a course issue, that’s a player issue. Just keep that in mind if you think you’re just outside the fairway but can’t find your ball. Overall, this is a great course.

If the fairways were more plush it would be one of the best courses in the area!

Thought it rained the course held up well no soaked areas
Peaceful and Challenging
The staff were friendly and are readily available to assist when we arrived. The course is challenging (15th & 18th) and at the same time peaceful as you take in the lake scenery (12th) and wildlife that is present throughout.
Greens are very hard
Course conditions were just ok. They need rain badly. The greens were so hard approach shots would not stick. Tee times were Not enforced which made for slow play. Probably won’t come back.

The Layout has always been one of the best in the area, But these folks at Suffolk Golf Course has this course ready for a Suffolk amateur. You should definitely check it out, wont be long for your back out.
