No more mats on tee boxes!!!
Get rid of turf mats on tee boxes. Grow some grass on the course and start maintaining the greens.

Decent track
Not a bad layout. Have to hit it both ways off the tee. Short course that is fairly tight in places. My group was told to hurry up when no one was behind us for a hole. Some of the greens had poor areas but pin placements tried to evade the rough patches. I’ll play there again at some point.

City course that is not lush like a higher price course. It has multiple challenging holes while the tees and greens show lack of investment.

You get what you pay for.
Couldn’t turn down $18 for 18 holes. Course didn’t impress me but it also wasn’t a complete disappointment. The staff were very friendly! Tee boxes were horrible, fairways and bunkers were marginal at best, and the greens were hit or miss. I’m a single digit handicap who really only cares about the greens, if putts roll somewhat true I can overlook the conditions everywhere else. 2-3 of the greens were terrible, like walk up to the green, laugh, pick the ball up and walk off to the next tee terrible. The rest of the greens weren’t terrible but they were far from true. Puts bounced and hopped there way to the hole. Overall the course was pretty much what I expected for $18 I was just hopeful for slightly better greens.

Course need work
Your greens need serious work. Many greens are covered with patches of other grass growing or bare patches of sand.

always enjoy playing at kempsville
we do not like the mats placed at certain holes to hit off of. we would rather hit off the ground even if there is no grass. with the mats in place. we are unlikely to play there as often.

I hate to think this
2 twosomes were sent out in front of our foursome on the back. The snack bar was Terribly slow. As we got to 13, the marshsall told us we were two holes behind and that the clubhouse was getting calls. Was it a coincidence that 2 of our 4 were young Black players?(Im a 58 year old white male) I’d like to think not, but we were originally behind a threesome and the we had a single pushing from behind.
I really hope that Black players are treated the same as White players, but yesterday should me that it COULD be an issue.
There is nothing to discuss. The marshal just kept repeating that the clubhouse was getting calls but nothing we said was taken into consideration. You know what the issue is. Next time consider all of the facts.

Poor conditions
I don't think I've ever played at a course that has turf tee boxes...they're in that rough of shape. Fairways and greens aren't a whole lot better.
