Kempsville Greens Golf Course

Staff is great, course well kept. Greens are fast. Overall, we had an enjoyable day golfing!

It's been 2 years but Kempsville brought a nice surprise with the digital score card and course reader on the cart. You just have to remember to leave the power on or you will lose your information. 😁 The pace of play was backed up a little bit everyone was patient.

Don't be fooled.

This course is challenging, especially if you play from the back tees, you'll need every shot in your game, meaning some holes you'll need to hit a fade or a draw,and some straight shot, the greens are well kept fairways are decent, few bad spots but the worst thing is the cart path can give you back pain if you drive fast on it, honestly for the price , greens a d GPS on cart is well worth the play.

The front 9 greens had been aerated recently.

Fairways were pretty dry. No beer cart which is just as well because 12 ounce cans cost $7.40.

But we had a good time overall.

It was an amazing day for a round of golf, I was able to play nine holes with a cart in under 2 hours with wonderful new friends that I was paired up with as a single. This is a great way to say goodbye to a Monday or any work day!

I've played there before and now I remember why I have not replayed the course.

Staff made me feel uncomfortable. Same thing the last time I played there.

Won't be playing there again. Won't recommend. Go anywhere but there. Red Wing

is much much better.

I've been playing this course on and off for a couple of years now. About 2 years ago I had a very bad experience there and wound up walking off the course after 9. But that day is history and things have certainly changed. It is obvious management is working hard at maintaining the course. There were no "bad" greens, I think out of the 18 there were 2 with small bare spots which they were working to fix. Fairways are great. They have removed a number of sand traps over the years which makes the course a little less challenging. Just this past week they brought in all new carts and they are being outfitted with GPS video screens. The staff is very friendly. Excellent course for the money. Pace of play was a bit slow but I find that to be the case at many courses these days, and I only play on weekdays!!!

Staff ruined it, course was nice gentlemen at the desk checked us in and were very helpful. Once we got to our golf carts and headed to the first hole was stopped by a staff member who immediately & rudely told us (party of 5) that we could not play together, in which we replied no problem, shortly after the same staff member started to rush us, saying that we were holding people up. My frustration is that we were the only party being rushed and also the only party of color. It’s sad to say that even though my money is green just like everyone else’s I’m still defined by my skin color. Will never go back and spend my hard earned money at this place again.

The course is well laid out, several water "opportunities for a lost ball" on the back nine. Overall the course is well taken care of and a pleasure to play.
