Ford's Colony Country Club - Blackheath Course

The three courses at Ford's Colony are beautiful and well-maintained. They are challenging to the average golfer, but not too challenging to keep you away. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the grounds are well-maintained, and the facilities are first class. This is a great place to play, and with a deal from GolfNow, a fantastic value. The only negative was the lack of hole layout available while on the course. If you haven't played there before, it is not always possible to know where the fairway goes, or if there is water in play. The small layout on the scorecard didn't provide much help, and I don't think I should have to pay for a yardage book to know what hazards lurk.

Course was in excellent condition. We only had one delay the entire day. We saw the beverage cart once on hole 7. Didn't see the cart the rest of the day. Driving range is nice. Most other driving ranges let you hit off natural turf. Gives you a better assestment of you warm-up. Great layout.

Play was most enjoyable and the scenery was even better. Enjoy life and who you are playing with on this course no matter what you score.

Great place for a few rounds. Nice practice area too.
Play any or all of their three courses. My favorite is Marsh Hawk.
Suggest you request an electric cart. The gas carts are too put-put and smelly. Nice clubhouse, wish it had a better view.

Ford's Colony has 3 great courses that are both challenging and set in a beautiful setting. Staff goes out of the way to please.

The pro shop staff was outstanding! The starters were excellent.
Very friendly place to play and excellent value. We loved it and would play again if in the area.

All three courses at Ford's Colony are average. The greens are usually below average and speed of play is 4 1/2 hours +, but when booked at or below $40 acceptable for the money.

Fords Colony has 3 private courses with a different course a day open to the public. We could tell that the staff knew that we were not members. They could have been a bit more friendly to make us feel more wanted. Great golf course!

Overall nice course. Nice layout. very nice faciliies.

Country club, snooty patrons . Not allowed to drive cart to vehicle at end of round to drop off clubs.

Staff was wonderful. The deal on Golfnow was very inviting and a deal I would do again if in the Williamsburg area. We thought it was a great place to play for golfers who were not members of Ford's Colony.
