Colonial Heritage Club
About
Colonial Heritage Golf Club offers the only Arthur Hills-designed layout in Williamsburg, and it is also the city's only gated golf community. Golfers looking for a place where they can just 'grip it and rip it' will be out of luck on this course, which requires skill and strategy. It is a thought-provoking design where golfers will want to weigh all of the risk and reward options first. The layout plays through deep ravines that provide interesting changes in elevation. The golf course also features undulating fairways and large, fast greens that are bordered by strategically placed bunkers as well as water hazards that come into play on several holes. Colonial Heritage G.C. definitely provides a good challenge, even for a seasoned player, but beginners shouldn't feel too intimidated. The golf course offers some room for error and the risk-reward opportunities appeal to low and high handicappers alike.

It's not easy to get on the green on the par-3 14th but if you do, you've got a great birdie opportunity. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 03/11/2020

Nice course not what we expected
Arthur Hills is supposed to be a player friendly course designer but this course was a bit severe in some places. The fisreays were soaking wet all we could figure is that they fertilized to get the Bermuda to germinate and green up and then watered the crap out of them but there was zero and I mean zero roll in the fairways. Greens were outstanding.
Challenging course especially hole #5!!
Nice golf course. Some really tough holes if you are not a long hitter. FUN course to play and staff very friendly!
First Time But Certainly Will Not Be The Last
Course was beautiful with weather to match. Being early March the fairways and other areas are still recouping from the harsh winter, most green bunkers were under repair so able to get free drops in those areas. The course had plenty of ups and downs which was a nice change to most courses I normally play in the 757 Hampton Roads Area as part of our work golf league. Will be back hopefully later in summer with hopes to take on more challenging courses in the Williamsburg area.
A bit pricey, but a good course.
We were greeted by friendly people upon entering the course.
The tees and greens were in good shape although the fairway grass probably needed to grow in some more. There were lots of tee boxes to choose from . If it's your first time there, I'd recommend something easier that what you may be used to on your home course.
The cart path only made this round a bit longer than needed.
I would certainly go back there again, but the price was a bit steep in comparison to most of the other four course we played this week.
Valley after valley
If you like trips through the woods while watching your golf ball fly over valley after valley this is your course. Most tee shots were epic along with most green approach's and course was in average shape. Nothing wrong with it and the layout was so dang fun!!!
A lot of shots
Unique course. Lots of contours on each hole. I thought it was difficult course to putt on. But I loved the challenge. Starter was great people on inside just meh.
Challenging
I had a great time. I was able to play with a member, which helped a lot. Some holes are difficult to judge landing areas to manage the course. The members suggestions helped me have a good round. Overall everyone was friendly and the course was in fantastic shape.
