About
Colonial Heritage Golf Club offers the only Arthur Hills-designed layout in Williamsburg, and it is also the city's only gated golf community. Golfers looking for a place where they can just 'grip it and rip it' will be out of luck on this course, which requires skill and strategy. It is a thought-provoking design where golfers will want to weigh all of the risk and reward options first. The layout plays through deep ravines that provide interesting changes in elevation. The golf course also features undulating fairways and large, fast greens that are bordered by strategically placed bunkers as well as water hazards that come into play on several holes. Colonial Heritage G.C. definitely provides a good challenge, even for a seasoned player, but beginners shouldn't feel too intimidated. The golf course offers some room for error and the risk-reward opportunities appeal to low and high handicappers alike.

Tough but really nice
If you don’t know this course it’s really tough. Lots of blind shots, tough carries. Conditions were excellent.
Stunning course
Of course is absolutely beautiful perfect tea boxes beautiful fairways greens are very fair. The course is a little challenging, but well worth it for the price.

Course conditions were poor for the price. Fairways were weeded and bald in several spots. The course is short, narrow and unforgiving, for those that like that. There are better options in the Williamsbirg area at this price point.

Issues between course and Golf Now
I booked this tee time on Golf Now only to get a call 3 hours before the time from the course telling me that Golf Now should not have had the tee time and the course could not honor my tee time reservation. I then had to scramble to find another tee time. I have yet to get a confirmation from the course that the tee time was canceled and I haven't received a refund from Golf Now.
The greens were really fast and nice. The bunkers are nice with lots of sand.
The fairways are terrible....sorry
Underwhelming
Tough course. Fairways need work! Greens were good but FAST! Tee boxes good, but rough was terrible. Also could only get snacks and drink which was limited choices from the other part of the clubhouse where they have events
Rude, inflexible staff
We were not informed by staff that it was cart path only and some in our group could not walk that far. So we only played nine and asked for a refund for back nine. Staff basically called us liars, stating that the starter was informing everyone it was cart path only. If this were the case we would not have proceeded with the round. Staff refused refund for 9 holes. We have been coming to Williamsburg every year, for iver 20 years, but will not patronize this course again.
Nice course not what we expected
Arthur Hills is supposed to be a player friendly course designer but this course was a bit severe in some places. The fisreays were soaking wet all we could figure is that they fertilized to get the Bermuda to germinate and green up and then watered the crap out of them but there was zero and I mean zero roll in the fairways. Greens were outstanding.
