Golfer Reviews
Williamsburg 2026
Very nice course. Not easy most shots to greens are up hill. Lots of hills and valleys. Great condition in fairways and on greens. Too bad the tennis shoers who play don’t know how to rake traps and fix ball marks. But we find that at most open to the public courses.
Wow! So happy I gave it a try
Visiting Hampton area and looked around for a decent course to play. I was absolutely blown away by the customer service interactions with everyone, especially Bob the starter. The course is in phenomenal condition from tee to green. A little sandy on the greens but barely affected spin on approach shots. It was a hot afternoon so I basically played solo on a private course. Amazing experience and I will certainly be back and recommend it to all of my friends in the area.
Most Excellent Adventure
Course was in great condition with the exception of where inconsiderate golfers did not fix their ball marks on the green or did so with a half-hearted effort. Where ball marks weren't a consideration, the greens rolled smoothly and true. Fairways were in great shape, rough was not overly penial and the sand in the traps was heavy but consistent. Much better experience than at another course in the area which charged twenty dollars more. Kiskiask GC was a great value. A lot of scenic views throughout the course. Definitely on my play it again list when visiting Williamsburg area.
Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful with anything you needed. Course was in very good condition. Pace was good, completed round in 3hrs 55mins. Look forward to returning in the future.
Hot Day at Kiskiack
Course is in EXCELLENT CONDITION.
Putting greens superb..
Friendly staff and improved dining!
Beautiful course
Beautiful course with well maintained greens. Owner was on site and very pleasant. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful throughout the day.
Perfect Day
What a great day it was out there. I got a good deal to play at 1pm on a Wednesday. When I showed up, I was allowed to go straight to the first tee and I was 45 minutes early. The course has a great layout with some challenging holes and some risk reward tee shots. I would highly recommend that you give this course a try.
Great course, quiet and beautiful
Got to enjoy a speedy play just my son and me. Quickly if at 8 with no rush. We enjoyed warming up at the nicely kept range, putting and chipping green. The course was on great conditions and the staff all around were incredibly friendly. I haven't played the golden horseshoe, but sense this quiet gem is a much more peaceful play. I highly recommend.
Can't wait to go back!
A friend and I were spending a couple days golfing in Williamsburg on our way to North Carolina for a week long golf trip. He picked this course because of the other good reviews. We had an early tee time right before a tournament and were paired up with a single player who had tons of course knowledge - what a great day. The course is gorgeous and a fair and challenging layout; All the sand traps were being reworked with brand new drainage, so they were free lifts. Once they are done they are going to be fantastic with a lot of character. this is not a simple facelift , each trap has detailed edging that will add to the beauty of each view throughout the course.
The course layout requires and rewards accuracy, the greens rolled true and were receptive.
The staff is friendly and professional at all areas of the business. The food and beverage team's service and quality was exceptional. This course will be on our trip plans for next spring, if not this fall!! I highly recommend you go and enjoy the course and all it has to offer.
Cold but fun
The weather was dry and overcast. Some of the course was alittle windy. We pretty much had the course to ourselves. I love winter golf! If you dress in thin layers, it can be very comfortable. It would be nice if the grill was open earlier to sell coffee and breakfast. The course is interesting without being too challenging.
Just Arrived in Williamsburg--and Straight to Kiskiack
I drove 3.5 hours to Williamsburg and when I arrived it was 74 degrees! I took advantage of the weather and called Kiskiack, and they paired me with a twosome and another single. First, the course was in pretty good condition. The fairways were good, the greens were in excellent shape and ran a little fast even, and the rough was thick and a tad on the long side but certainly playable. Unfortunately, the bunkers needed some work. There were several holding water, and still others were in dire need of additional sand and raking. Luckily, I wasn't in any, so it worked out for me. Second, my only complaint was the single paired with us was a high school kid who clearly did not understand golf etiquette. He was walking and would hit his shot and start walking before the rest of us tee'd off. I'm okay with that because he wants to get moving to not slow down play; however, he walked right down the middle of the fairway, looked back, and waved us to go ahead and hit. I guess he figured we couldn't reach him, but that was on the first hole (and continued every shot for the next several) so how would he know what our distances were? He had an unobstructed view to execute his shots, but we weren't afforded the same opportunity--we had him walking down the middle of the fairway which was very distracting. By the 4th hole, he just left us to play through--the course was all stacked up, but somehow he managed to get through and we didn't see him after two more holes, so the foursomes in front of us must have let him through. Very distracting, very disrespectful to other players, and pretty self-centered. He needs a lesson in golf etiquette. There were no marshals, unfortunately. Finally, the good news is the staff are very nice and accommodating. The starter tried to keep people moving when there were slow groups coming off #9 and he was very nice about addressing it. Kiskiack is always a good course to play when you're in town.
Great course
Fast greens and relaxed pace. Beautiful fall golf
Non existent pace of play
Great golf course, terrible pace of play. Don’t play here on the weekend unless you like 5-6 hour rounds. Consistently slow golf here which is a shame because it’s a well groomed course.
Great first time
To start we should know i played on a holiday weekend.
The course was beautiful with Bermuda fairways and bendgrass greens. The rough was a great about two inches tall in my opinion, which gave just enough difficulty but good access for the rescue clubs to hit the ball. The fairways and greens where so nice and well kept. Greens where rolling true and their lay out was top notch. Definitely made putting more interesting and fun.
The bunkers were raked the day before for what i could see but it didn't take away or add to their difficulty. Now, the first holes on the back nine were tremendous, low grass and sand bunkers with sloped greens were so much fun. I, completely enjoyed my experience there, from the range, practice greens and course.
A must play course if you are in Williamsburg.
