About
Whispering Firs Golf Club is one of two courses operated by Joint Base Lewis McChord. The other course, Eagles Pride, is located southwest of Whispering Firs. Designed by Bob Baldock in 1962, Whispering Firs opened on what was then McChord Air Force Base and later became part of Joint Base Lewis McChord. Though it's a military golf course, it's open to the public but don't forget to check in with security at the visitor's center. The layout features well manicured fairways lined with mature trees and challenging rough. The small greens demand accuracy and are made even more difficult with strategically placed bunkers framing the edges. There are some tough doglegs that require conservative play, and water hazards come into play as well. Whispering Firs Golf Club will test a variety of skills but it's not an overly punishing course. Players of all skill levels will be able to enjoy a round here.

Perfect day
Course in good condition, weather good, fun with friends
Rentals
The Habenero food place was closed and the club rentals were absolutely horrible. I'm in the middle of a move so I didn't have my clubs. They tried to give me a 9 piece set of Wilson's from 1993. After some complaining, they dug out a 12 piece tour edge or some walmart clubs.
Overall, I love the course and play there all the time but man, dont go if you need to rent clubs! Lol
Wet Day in WA
All was good except the weather. Had a few showers but I was not to be deterred

Thought the weather was going to be cloudy but dry but turned into pretty constant rain.
Beautiful Course
The course was very well maintained with fast greens. This course is the best kept secret in the area for golfers. Its well worth the effort to get onto the base to check off of anyone’s bucket list of excellent challenges.
Unable to enter the course; Nobody respod
I could not enter to this course, because the course is in the military vase.
I left my message to the club.
I did not get any response.
