Golfer Reviews
Another golf course that just wants $$ most golf courses that I played charge regular price for guess raiding, my wife was with me she doesn’t play and this golf course Changed $30 for her to ride with me, the cart that I picked the ice chest was full of garbage ,the sand traps were in horrible condition you can see all the grass barrier on top , fairways are in good condition, greens were healing for aeration super slow, they had 2 foursome in front of my group they were all over the weeds looking for golf balls every hole ,finish my round 5 and half hours. Nice course , first time playing here but I will not come back , I rather look around for diferente courses to play.
great as always.
Greens fees where at a discount because the greens and a fairway or two where plugged recently but the course still played amazing even though they where in that process. team knew how to keep the amount of sand on the green to as little as possible. can’t wait to go back
Outstanding experience all around
We had a snow delay but wow was the staff amazing. From communication to thoughtfulness of the shotgun start to calling me and telling me I forgot my wallet in the golf cart.
This is a fine establishment and the course was in amazing conditions (bunkers were expected to be wet after that rain).
The carts were top notch and added a bit of prestige to the course.
Will be back!
Very scenic
On 11/30/22, I enjoyed my first round a Copper Valley (CV) with a buddy. The course was in good condition with many positive and only a few negatives. The course is located in beautiful rolling hills and with the fall colors in play the day was a visual delight.
The positives included several clean restrooms peppered around the course, well maintained fairways and greens (which were fast), and tee boxes were in good shape for the most part. Also, the cart navigation was cool and included radio with Country music.
The course has many slopes to play, so you can use some good course management and hit left and watch the ball come down and hit a mound or side of the fairway and then roll into the fairway.
Several elevated tee boxes make for interesting shots.
The negatives were several sand traps that needed maintenance. I wondered why most were in great shape but some were neglected. Maybe some follow-up my management on the grounds crew?
In the winter, the course uses a shotgun start process after 10am to avoid frost delays. The downside was that we got a little backed up at times. Also, after we rounded the 18th and went to the 1st tee, the GPS said we had exceeded our round, but I think it is a setting in the GPS they can turn off to accommodate shotgun starts (not everyone starts at 1 and finishes on 18).
Overall a great experience. I am looking forward to returning.
Great course, terrible pace of play
12:50 tee time, didn’t get to start until 1:15. We were only able to play 12 holes in 4 hours.
Very disappointing
I was shocked at the course condition, over watering very extreme and totally affecting what previously was one of the best quality courses in California in my opinion. I really hope they find a way to bring this course back to life before it’s too late. San traps need sand separately to cover undying material/cloth/cotton - I realize bunkers are expensive to maintain but it says so much about the greens keeping crew, almost like they are non-existent. It’s worth the $60 hot deal we paid for it, but I would much rather pay more to get the condition back to what it once was.
Please save this course, maybe start a Go Fund Me page.
Conditions are terrible
I haven’t played this course in 10 years. Back then it was great. Now it’s a wildly inconsistent mess. The bunkers have little to no sand. The biggest problem…it’s overwatered to the point that every ball plugs in the middle of the fairway. If you take any divot it becomes a chunked shot. I heard a maintenance guy say they are having drainage issues. The grass near the greens is thick, overgrown, and puddles with water.
Several tee boxes from the tips are dirt with no grass. Same with many parts of fairways.
The 10th, 11th, and 18th holes have a terrible sewage smell.
The greens are nice but nothing like they were like before.
The driving range was depleted to the point of 10 balls in total across all stalls. When I was making the turn toward the 10th tee…the cart/starter guy yelled out to me that the range was closed. I wasn’t even going to the range.
If I could put money on it, I would say this course will be shut down within 5 years after the current post-pandemic golf craze is over. A hint to homeowners, sell while you are still ahead or get ready for some massive dues coming your way to keep this place open.
Golf shop - trying to charge $150 and see how it goes for you 👍
Fun layout - rough around the edges
It's probably been 8 years since I've played here and it's not in as good of shape as prior. It's a fun layout and one of the best in the gold country foothills. There were 2 main problems: The bunker liners were exposed all over the place .. they need sand! and kikuyu grass has invaded lots of areas just off the fairways and it is about 4" deep so it was tough getting out of it. There are many areas in the fairways with no grass but they are working on it. Weekday rates are great .. Fri-Sun not so much.
