Golfer Reviews
Not a $100 dollar a round course right now
Been here several times and everytime the course looks worse and worse, weed liners in bunkers are showing in almost every bunker… some bunkers have knee tall weeds growing. The greens were recently Aerated when we went this time but the holes were absolutely demolished… some of them wouldn’t even hold the flag up. Chris in the club house is great, wait staff and bartenders are great. The pizza on the turn and dinner after was great… the course is just looking rough… I would not pay $100 to play here.
Golf Club at Copper Valley
Very fun course! Not real long but plenty of challenge! Staff & facilities very nice. Course condition was fair. Greens had been plugged recently so putting was very slow & bumpy. Many wet areas around the course. Hopefully next time greens will be running fast & true!
Had a good time all the same.
Sanded greens
Beautiful day to play golf. Course was not in good shape because they had just sanded the greens the day before and they had just had a big thunder storm about 3 hours before we played. The fairways were really soft. Still had a good time
104 temp
Even at high temp the course was in good condition overall. Some areas were over watered, but tee boxes and greens were great.
Merced player
Great day in all the greens are fast and fairways very nice all around a great course some sprinkler under repair
Great course!
The tee box, fairway, and greens were well maintained. I love that there was plenty of water on the course and things were laid out with a good flow.
The good, the bad and the ugly
The layout is great and the course has So much potential and so little attention to detail. The absolute worst bunkers I’ve ever seen. The black sub surface is completely coming apart. About a 1/10 of an inch of sand. Absurd to just let this fester as it ruins the appearance and feeling of what could be a special experience. The staff are everywhere like ants, but really lack in so many areas. They have no starter and people just do whatever they want. I had the first twilight time after a small tournament and pro shop did nothing about a foursome jumping in front of me. They let me pass after a few holes only to have another group drive past me and tee off in the hole in front of me. I call the pro shop and they act like I’m a jerk for complaining. Not worth the cost. Crossing this off my list of places to play
Great course, a must if you’re in the area
Love this course so much I played it two days in a row. My in laws live in the area and I pass by it so many times, I decided to finally play it. The amenities are amazing. The only course I’ve seen with ice chests on 1 and 10 to fill your cooler, ice water on almost every hole and the course itself is in fantastic shape. The bunkers are a little worn and the netting underneath shows but don’t hit into them and you won’t even notice.
A pretty easy course with a few water hazards to challenge you. Such a fun place to play.
Fix the bunkers & improve on service.
I really enjoy making the 30 or so minute drive to play copper valley golf course, but for the price I am truly disappointed in how terrible the bunkers are in and it appears management could careless. A few weeks ago I played yochi course in woodland & I tell you copper valley should be ashamed to charge what they charge. Called at the turn to order some hot dogs & no answer & waited about 20 minutes for some undercooked hot dogs. Who manages this course?
fun and challenging
1st time in 20 years playing the course, each hole had it's own identity, fair and challenging, course in great shape,
Great course bunkers need work
The course is awesome as far as fairways and greens go . The bunkers need help though I had to move my ball a few times in the bunker as my ball was caught in the felt paper sticking out of the bunker .
Excellent Father's Day Golf Outing
Course was great, staff was personable, and the food was good (and free for fathers). Pace of play was just right, as was the weather. No drink / food carts however.
Great course with some repairs needed
The green condition is excellent. But the fairway has too many spots that need repairs. The areas near the GUR spots were over-watered and became soggy -- good luck if your tee shots were trapped there but can't get a relief to replace it :-/
Bunkers had lots weed screens exposed and some had lots of weeds. The green keeper needs to plan and spend to take care of these bunkers otherwise they can ruin a otherwise good course.
Overall it's still a great course. but comparatively the nearby greenhorn has clear higher quality now where they used to rival each other in my opinion.
MANY sand traps, but in Verrrryy POOR condition
Let the public know ahead of time about the dirt like conditions of "sand" traps ........ really takes away from round....... would avoid till corrected ....
Lack of course knowledge and with windy conditions it was tough. However the course is in excellent condition. Just wish it was a little closer to home but I will definitely come back soon.
I love this course
This is my favorite course within driving distance (I'm about an hour away). The course conditions are usually quite good, but they were absolutely excellent for my round yesterday. It's a true mountain course; the holes meander through the hills and are not stacked up next to each other. If you spray it very far off of the tee your ball will be gone, but the fairways are actually quite wide. The course doesn't play very difficult from the white tees, but the blues and blacks can make it really long.
The only downside is that they sprayed the greens with fertilizer that had a green tint and it made the color artificially bright. I imagine this will wear off almost immediately, though, so it shouldn't be a deterrent for anyone looking to play in the future.
Bunkers
The only downside for a course of this quality and price is that many of the bunkers are not in good shape. Visible underlayment and little sand. Otherwise, great rolling hills layout good condition fairways and tees, fast greens. It is also a long drive from anywhere unless you live in the foothills so it is a destination course
