Inniscrone Golf Club
About
Inniscrone Golf Club in Avondale is one of the toughest public courses in the area. It is a formidable challenge to say the least, but an enjoyable one. None of the holes run parallel to each other and no two holes are alike either. The greens have quite a bit of variation from one to the next but mostly they are very large and extremely fast. Although the greens only have mild contouring, the rippling landscape still provides plenty of challenges throughout. Strategically placed bunkers perfectly complement the dramatic elevation changes, ranging from pot bunkers to vast expanses of sand. Inniscrone Golf Club's ninth hole is a memorable one since it encapsulates the course's appeal with a ridge of cross-bunkers just off the tee and even more along the left side.

Hidden Gem
Hidden Gem I hear player say that all the time. I wish they allowed 4.5 stars. Play here regularly. Always in very good condition and they work at improving it. Not for the faint hearted, this is not a beginners course. A great mix of holes, everything from target to "grip it and rip it" with fast undulating greens and lots of decisions. If touce never played it before stay with the middle tees I'm sure you'll find them challenging enough.
Always awesome.
It rained it's butt off the night before but course drains well. Amy is always so welcoming and helpful. Great course and great service.
Great outing!
Excellent conditions and great pace of play for a foursome on a Saturday morning in November.
Little Giant
I enjoyed the course immensely. Course Layout was fantastic and plays much longer than actual yardage. I had planned to play from the pro tees but with the advice of the couple I played with they told me the Green tees (White on most courses) would be challenging enough. They were right. Not a flat hole on the course, challenging bunkers and nice green. This course got the better of me and I look forward to returning to get my revenge.
Great condition
I've played this course before and this was in the best condition ever. Fairways were in good condition and they seemed to enhance the bunker design. Greens were somewhat slow as were the players in front of us. Overall a good day.

Course is always in great condition.
Worth the money
Very scenic course with an exceptionally friendly staff. Tee boxes and bunkers could have been better maintained. Very challenging with quite a few blind shots. Glad we were with a twosome that knew the layout.
Inniscrone
Played this course today as it was the best weather one could hope for. Wife and one of her friends played. Course was not crowded and we had a good round. Tee boxes are a little rough but they are coming back. Greens are in good shape. Fairways are also in good shape. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Great challenge, nice layout
Played this course while in town visiting my brother and was both of our first times playing it. I'm not sure what the other reviewers experienced in the clubhouse, but the staff was more than friendly with us when we arrived and checked in. The pro seemed very happy to have us and gave us all the information we needed about the course before going out.
The course itself was in overall great condition. The greens were challenging, but rolled true and all of the sand traps (thankfully only found myself in one) were all well groomed and filled with sand. There are some really tough bunkers too, some maybe 7+ feet deep. The course itself is a nice challenge for weekend players like myself. I like that many of the par 4s require less than driver and make you really strategize before teeing off. However, bring your golf GPS app to this course--there are some blind tee shots that can be misleading if you don't know where you're going. With a 138 slope rating from the tips, this course obviously has some undulation and elevation changes, but nothing obnoxious that I can recall. But as with all challenging courses, you'll be rewarded for good tee shots and punished for poor ones.
I also was told by our playing partner that the course was designed by the same guy who designed the Rio Olympics course, which I thought was pretty cool.
Really enjoyed our round and hope to get back to the course next year when visiting my brother!
So glad you enjoyed the course conditions, layout and design. We can't wait to see you again soon! Glad you found the course a challenge.
Challenging course
We arrived about 30 minutes ahead of out tee time. I thought we could go out since there was no one on the tee but the pro shop said we had to wait. Also, we were paired up with another twosome. I could understand this if that is there policy but I saw many singles and twosomes on the course. Why pair us up? Maybe because we were just Golfnow players. I can never understand this because it just tends to jam things up. The course itself was in good shape except for the tee boxes ans the traps which could use more sand. Overall a good day.
Thanks so much for playing at Inniscrone Golf Club, glad you enjoyed the course. We regret to hear you were not able to tee off early, thanks for letting us know. We implement a dynamic pricing strategy based on time of day and many other factors, which is why we do our best to uphold the tee time for each golfer. We do hope you return soon, we can't wait to see you again!
Great course great condition
Despite not having very much rain lately, the course is green and it pretty good shape. Tough course with a few blind shots, would definitely play again.
We can't wait to see you again! Glad you found the course a challenge and the conditions to be on par. See you soon!
Staff was GREAT
Staff was great but with no course map on the card or at the tee box took some of the fun out of round. Half of the holes were in good shape but the rest were very beat up.
Thanks for leaving your feedback we will audit the course and ensure the condiitons on the tee boxes are up to par for your next round.
Not a warm reception for GolfNow users
Course is in great shape considering the temps & dry weather.
Patrick always has an attitude towards golfnow players. I was paired w/3-oter golfnow players & they all noticed it. My self & another guy were there 40 minutes early but Patrick would not allow us to tee off early even though the course was open. I have noticed the attitude previous times I have played there. I don't understand why you would advertise on golfnow if you don't want customers to use it. Otherwise very good course just don't expect to be treated as a regular paying customer.
Thank you for leaving your feedback on your experience. We are sorry to hear there was a complication at check-in and we assure you we have addressed this issue with our staff and management. We want to voice that the actual tee "time" and price point honored from GolfNow or online bookings must be taken into account when letting a golfer out on the course. That being said, from a customer service stand point we are working hard to ensure you get the absolute best service possible, we will have this addressed and thank you for pointing it out. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the course conditions and we can't wait to see you again!
Inniscrone
Great course & lots of fun playing it!
So glad you had fun and loved the course. Come back and see us again this summer!
Beautiful Day for Golf
I've seen the course in better shape. Back nine tougher than the front. ALways a tough test. Tees are not marked in the usual way. Five different tees to chose from.
Glad you found the course a challenge. Keep on practicing!
Bring a fullbag
The course was challenging and had several places where you had to lay up or forced carries. The greens were in good condition and a little slow. Not a good idea to stray very far from the fairway.
Thanks for the tip here for newer golfers, great advice! Come back and see us soon. Glad you loved the challenge.
Nice layout, terrible greens
I would have rated this course 4.5 if the greens were better. Terribly slow, full of ball marks, extremely soft, very fuzzy and a ton of spike marks all over every green. Downhill putts would come to a quick stop and putting through the spike marks was just fraustrating, either popping the ball straight up, or throwing it completely off line. We were told be staff they haven't aerated greens there in a long time. They should consider it or at least cutting and rolling their greens. As for the course, it is a nice layout. The front 9 is pretty wide open with the exception of the 4th. That was my favorite hole on the course. The back isn't terribly tight either with the exception of 17. There is plenty of elevation change from tee to green each hole. You will not have very many flat lies in the fairway or around the greens. The tee boxes need some work. They were long, some missing one tee marker, and it looked like the crew hasn't moved the tee markers in a week. The teeing ground was all chewed up and down to the sand on most tees. The fairways were decent. The grass seemed long and it was very spongy which made the course play longer than the yardage. The ball sat down in the fairways. The rough was tough in spots, especially the low areas. The bunkering was nice and pretty deep. Only found one greenside bunker and the sand was nice to get out of.
Buy the yardage book. There is a bunch of tough tee shots that can run through the fairways or you need to know carry distances to or over bunkers. Shoot for the 150 markers if you can see them and you'll be fine.
As for hole 16, it's a split fairway an awkward looking hole from the tee. The right fairway is higher than the left. Aim for the left because it's a blind shot into an awkward green with a big slop front left. The left fairway will give you the best look at the green if the pin is on the left of the green. Hole 17 is a very tough golf hole but a good one. Bomb a drive and you may still have 200 yards into the green. You can also run a ball through the fairway here if you are a big hitter and don't expect a flat lie once you get to it.
Thanks for your feedback. We do get a lot of traffic come through which could explain some of the greens but we appreciate you bringing it up we will address it at the course. We appreciate the extra insight here for some of our newer golfers!
Challenging course.
Played front nine in 2 hrs.5 minutes; back nine was SLOW; 3 hours! Course is well laid out. Smell from local farms too much to take on the back nine. Too many golfers don't repair ball marks!!
Thanks for playing at Inniscrone Golf Club, we appreciate your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the course, sorry to hear the back 9 was a little less enjoyable. Come back and see us again!
Nice
Course was in great shape. Got in 18 just before a thunderstorm.
Glad you beat the storm! Thanks so much for coming out to play Inniscrone Golf Club!
Fun Course
I had not played here in a while and I forgot how much fun it was. It was a good challenging course with beautiful views and scenery.
The only difficulty we had was that we got behind 2 foursomes who played slowly. the last 3 holes dragged.
Thanks so much for leaving your review! We are happy to hear you came back to enjoy the golf course and the scenery was pleasant. We can't wait to see you again!
