Inniscrone Golf Club
About
Inniscrone Golf Club in Avondale is one of the toughest public courses in the area. It is a formidable challenge to say the least, but an enjoyable one. None of the holes run parallel to each other and no two holes are alike either. The greens have quite a bit of variation from one to the next but mostly they are very large and extremely fast. Although the greens only have mild contouring, the rippling landscape still provides plenty of challenges throughout. Strategically placed bunkers perfectly complement the dramatic elevation changes, ranging from pot bunkers to vast expanses of sand. Inniscrone Golf Club's ninth hole is a memorable one since it encapsulates the course's appeal with a ridge of cross-bunkers just off the tee and even more along the left side.

Course management
Great course IMO. Must drive your ball well ( reasonably long & reasonably straight). Greens are nice and true, (Please fix your ball mark). Ball placement into the green is necessary to score. The ability to shape your shot with your irons would be a plus at this course. Rough is penal, but the fairways are generous enough. If your hitting out of the rough, your ball will not spin and therfore the shot must be played accordingly. There are places on the course you cannot be if you expect to score. You wiil not be able to recover depending upon pin placement. Only had an issue with 1 hole. Its a downhill par 3 that plays about 110 on the card, but is a 75 yard shot. The shot is made tough with a narrow green. Over is dead and the front of the green is mounded to roll front to back. Ugh. Course is a great challenge for the better player. For higher handicappers, choosing the set of tees in line with your ability will dictate your enjoyment. Will definitely return. Play well! Cya.
Excellent Choice
If you are looking for a fair & friendly (many challenges too,,, it is golf you know !!!) course with a lot of character,, play this great layout.
Not overly long,, even from the gold tees,,, however, hit your shots to the best possible landing areas,,, or trouble will find your ball,,,,
Not having ever played there before,,, there were some blind spots that really bit me a few times,,,, but overall a great experience,,,,
My only (slight) complaint was that the day we (my son & I played as a twosome),,,, were that it seemed like all groups were looking to play their round at a record setting pace,,,
we finished in 3 hrs 45 mins,,,
but had one twosome play through after 4 holes,,, and the remainder of the day had a twosome behind us that always seemed to never get close enough to play through,, yet always seemed to be ready to hit right after we were leaving our tee-box, fairway or green,,,,,
Other than that,, a great layout & can't wait to go back again.....
Hi there thanks for coming out to Inniscrone GC! We are glad you had a good time out here with your son and we are happy to hear the pace of play was acceptable. See you again on your next round!
Very nice course
First time I played this course. It's wide open. with lost of bunkers. Challenging course. Some greens are deceiving. you read it one way and it goes the other way. Otherwise its a very nice course. and i definitely play this course more.
Hello and thanks for coming out to Inniscrone Golf Club! We are happy you enjoyed your round and you found it to be challenging, there's never a dull moment at Inniscrone, hope to see you again soon!
"Home of the Blind Shot"
This is a great course for Golfer's with some experience who are looking for a quality outing. The course plays wide open, and has more than one hole with a forty yard fairway; perfect for the slicer in all of us.
The one downside to this course are the expansive hills you end up hitting over. There are multiple holes where you can't see the landing zone, so you really have to keep an eye on your ball flight. The rough is thick (it was nice to have, but difficult), so if you lose track of the ball you may have trouble looking.
The course makes up for anything it might lack with it's amenities. Once you find the course, a Golf Cart will be delivered to your Car by an attendant. Once you're loaded up, it's a short drive up a hill to the clubhouse in the distance. The clubhouse has a great porch overlooking a range, with a putting/chipping green wedged beautifully between holes 18 and 10. Perfect for Warm-Up practice before the round. The staff was also very helpful, and I would highly recommend saying hello.
Hi there thanks for your review we are so glad you found the course challenging and enjoyed your round at Inniscrone Golf Club. Come back soon we can't wait to see you!
First time impressions
Drove here from NJ. First time playing. A little confusing finding the clubhouse. You park and there are golf carts there, but no clubhouse. Glad someone came by to explain, that I should load my cart, and then drive out to the Pro Shop. Teamed up into a 4-some with people who knew the course, which really helped. Nice course, in good shape, with tough fast greens. Hilly with lots of elevation changes. A real challange for me with my south Jersey flat golf course roots. Will go back again, when I shake off my winter rust, and get my game back together.
Hi there William thanks so much for coming out to play Inniscrone Golf Club! We're glad you had a good time and found our course challenging. Come back again soon for some more practice!
Inniscrone golf club
This was my first time playing Inniscrone Golf Club, I played with my brother as a two some. We played on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and played in 3:45 min (which is great for pace of play, for prime time on a Saturday) The course was in great condition, with beautiful green fairways. The staff was very friendly as well. But the one thing that made this golf course amazing was the price. Range balls are included as well, which is a plus if you want to warm up before your round. I highly suggest playing this course. You will not regret it.
Hi David thanks for taking the time to review Inniscrone Golf Club! We're very happy you chose to golf with us and had an excellent time out on the course and our range. Come back and visit soon!
Great staff, great maintenance
Overall awesome, staff met me a my car, course in great comdition
Experience Inniscrone
Number one fairway is huge and it's a good thing because I faded my drive way right which I never do. Many fairways are extra friendly so it keeps the game moving at a good pace. Par 3,s are tough but if you have a good iron game you can still birdie them. My favorite hole is in the middle of the front side. A par 4 , It's a very tight fairway that usually takes a good 3 wood down the middle and a short iron to a somewhat protected green. I look forward to returning. Dave Rizzo. Bensalem pa
Hi there! We are so glad you had an interesting and challenging round here at Inniscrone GC. We work hard to provide the best experience possible and look forward to your return to our course. See you on your next round!
Well laid out course but no hole layout!
1st time playing this course was a real challenge because no course lay out on the scorecard or at each hole. The greens where is fair condition and not consistent, Pace of play on the back was not good - very slow & we waited every SHOT. I did not see a ranger throughout our 18 holes to move the groups along -- on a Sunday afternoon!
Hi, thanks so much for coming out on Sunday! We do our best to ensure pace of play is moving along although once in a while we do encounter a hiccup, however we have informed our staff and ranger so they are aware this was an issue and we know the importance of it. Hope you can join us again soon. Please email me personally for a promo code on your next round. See you soon!

Good challenging course
In good condition considering the winter we had. Staff was excellent and very attentive.
Hi there! We appreciate you coming out to play after a long frigid winter. Come visit us in the spring. Hope to see you soon!
Great course
Course was in great shape for the weather we have had. Some tricky holes and a lot of uneven lies in the fairways
Challenging !
The course is well maintained and the staff is friendly
No cafeteria or dining facility but coffee and tea are offered to players from the pro shop
What a day
Inniscrone is great. Not to tough not to easy. Staff is awesome. Course is clean. The scenery is real nice. And the price to play is right. Me and my buddy had a blast and for the 25 dollar hot deal were heading back. Why people pay 45 dollars to play theses city courses blows my mind.
bring lots of range balls ... not good balls ...
this course is hard enough with the layout, but the greenskeepers want to make it harder by leaving the raggedy grass up. If you land on the fairway but roll into the rough, plan on spending 5 minutes trying to find that ball... or just give up. You'll find a few stepping on them before you find yours. No leeway. You will lose it anyplace but the fairway. Will not play again ..
It's a golf course, try mowing it.
This was my second time playing Inniscrone and I probably won't be back which is too bad because I like the design. It's a fair layout and the greens are nice. The reason I won't be back is because it wasn't fun to play a golf course that had rough that rivals most US Opens. My group consisted of very competent golfers and we were searching for balls that were literally 5 feet off the fairway almost every hole. Second, we were confronted by a very rude ranger. I get it's his job to speed up play and I agree with the premise however he could have been better about it. Also, we wouldn't be slow if we weren't looking for balls all day! Third, there were leaves all over the greens. I get it's October and that's supposed to happen but it was tedious to clean our lines on every green. It would have been good to have staff blow them off the greens on occasion.
US Open rough ??
I don't think so,,,,,
just that so many public tracts that we play do not have nice thick grass because of a lack of seeding or infertile land & lack of water,,,,
What a Hidden Gem
From the recent reviews that I have read,I wasn't expecting this course to be in such good condition. From the moment that my partner and I pulled up in the parking lot ,we were treated very well. Getting to the course. The fairways and greens were as good as any that we've played this year and as long as you kept the ball in play ,you have the opportunity to score well. That is,if you are a good putter. The layout itself will keep you in a good mood. We will be back to play here many more times. We traveled over an hour to get here but,it's well worth the trip.
Inniscrone is great!
I love this course. Over 4 rounds, it's always been in good condition. The layout is fairly open, with good use of elevation changes. I'll definitely be back for more rounds. Thanks golfnow for a great deal.
Beautiful September day!
Wasn't sure what to expect. My first time playing this course. The guys in the pro shop were very helpful explaining the more difficult holes. I played pretty well...36 front...38 back. Very challenging and a premium on hitting fairways. Fairways and greens were very nice, but the tees boxes and bunkers needed some attention. Fortunately, I was only in two bunkers. Overall, nice course and would definitely play again.
Fixing Ballmarks too much to ask
Inniscrone has done a great job making the course very playable. The work they've done on 16 is great. If only you could get the aHoles to fix ballmarks the greens would be good. The layout is one of the best around.
not a CC any longer
this is a Gil Hanse design for a high end CC, and I liked the course more when it initially went public. Houses are now apparent on many of the holes, and the devilish aspects to the course are continually disappearing in attempt to increase revenue. Unfortunately many courses are in the golfnow.com cycle of deep discounts creating its own set of issues.
As for the course, I found it in good shape. Many of the greens were just damp and marked up more than expected, and the bunkers could be reclassified as waste areas as some may have missed any maintenance this season. It still is one of my favorite courses, and the entire course crew are top notch doing the best the can with their constraining limitiations. There will always be issues with the course being too hard for many to enjoy, the pace of play when stuck behind a group struggling, etc.. But I will be back.
