DeBary Golf & Country Club
About
DeBary Golf & Country Club, a Lloyd Clifton-designed course sits on hilly land. The layout is fascinating. No two holes feel similar. Only two holes have water, but there is significant sand. Dense woods of pine and evergreen border the fairways. The rolling fairways and natural layout give the golf course a Carolinas feel. The par 5s are all in the 500- to 550-yard range. The par 3s are all approximately the same distance, running 180 to 190 yards from the back tees, and 150 to 160 yards from the white tees. DeBary is one of the few Clifton golf courses that do not top out at more than 7,000 yards.

Consistent over the years
Had the chance to play Debary for the first time in years. Same great green complexes and conditions. Some of the best elevation changes along I-4 corridor. Won’t wait so long until the next round.
Good layout
The course had a temporary green on the 1st hole since there was water on all low lying areas. For the price of $60 for this round it was NOT worth it.
I’ve played there before and it was OK for the $45 fee paid. Honestly, they should have discounted.
Wet damages course, partially flooded.
First hole has temporary green, they are working on the sand traps and green, most holes have flooding in low areas, you have to drive up to see where you can hit your next shot. Greens are ok and playable, in current conditions it should be discounted.
Scoreable from the fairway
A pleasure to play. Good driving range and putting green to get tou ready. Most fairways spacious enough to keep drives playable. Bermuda off the fairway will swallow your ball. Tees and greens in mostly good condition. Use your 3 wood on the par 5s and you'll give yourself a great chance. Will take my golf buddies back.
Numero Uno
Have had DeBary on my radar for a while and finally got around to playing today - had an absolute blast!! This is now my favourite course in central Florida. Staff were all real friendly and the starter took great delight in telling us all about ‘his’ course and ensured we had a great day. Even before we got started the view over the lake from the putting green is superb and then you realise both the 9th and 18th greens sit beside the lake - both excellent finishing holes!! This is a great layout with lots of lovely holes. Everything is well maintained with greens slopey and especially quick downhill. Can’t wait to return
Best course in the area
Fairways and greens in excellent condition. T-box was also very good.
If considering between DeBarry and Victoria Hills - choose DeBarry even if it’s a few dollars more. Well worth the price
One drawback is that the grass off the fairway will eat your ball. Hard to find because it sinks down into the grass
Still an excellent course.
Great Conditions…. Friendly Members
Played the hot deal and saw nobody for 14 holes ended up behind a member 3 some. Joined up for the last three holes… friendly guys…. DeBary is a class golf course with great greens and a lot of golf etiquette. Will alway choose Debay Golf and CC first.
Excellent track in good condition
Excellent track and good conditions but beware of first cut in the fairways. The course is a good layout is well-maintained the only complaint is you can lose a ball 3 feet off of the fairway in the first cut. Typically the pace is good here but on this occasion stuck behind a very slow foursome who wouldn’t let me play through even though I was a single. One of my favorites in the area along with Spruce Creek and the LPGA courses (honorable mention to Victoria Hills who has a great layout but has struggled maintaining the course but it is getting better).
Better than expected
This was my first time playing DeBary in several years due to poor previous experiences, but my most recent round changed my opinion of playing here again. In the past the course had always been very wet and pace of play extremely slow. New ownership has addressed the course saturation conditions by adding additional drainage as well as water hazards in places were standing water had previously been a constant issue. The pace of play was still slower, but nowhere near the five hour round I previously experienced. The rough is thick and deep to the point of needing the be literally over the ball in order to find it. A few of the bunkers lacked sufficient sand. While all of the above may sound negative it is in no way preventing me from playing at DeBary again as there are obvious signs of improvement and promise of things to come. It’s a great layout and I’m already looking forward to my next round there!
Good course at a fair price
West Volusia doesn’t have many options. This is the best one in the area. Nice layout, great conditions and lots of staff. They even had a mobile beverage cart.
DeBary cc is excellent track
Only the second time playing this course but I will be playing a lot more in the future. It’s an interesting and fair track; moderate difficulty. You can score well if you’re hitting the ball straight but you can also take some big numbers if you’re not. Course was in excellent shape greens had been punched a couple weeks ago so a little bit rough and slow but overall still better than many other courses.
Great shape, friendly staff!!
Course was in awesome shape and the rough is no joke!! You almost have to be right over your ball to locate it. Lots of OB so hit it straight!! We played on Saturday at 11:40 and got in 36 holes. Definitely will be back
