About
DeBary Golf & Country Club, a Lloyd Clifton-designed course sits on hilly land. The layout is fascinating. No two holes feel similar. Only two holes have water, but there is significant sand. Dense woods of pine and evergreen border the fairways. The rolling fairways and natural layout give the golf course a Carolinas feel. The par 5s are all in the 500- to 550-yard range. The par 3s are all approximately the same distance, running 180 to 190 yards from the back tees, and 150 to 160 yards from the white tees. DeBary is one of the few Clifton golf courses that do not top out at more than 7,000 yards.

Course is dried out no grass, fast greens.
This course has some grass in fairways t-boxes, greens are fast. The rest of the course is dirt, lots of bare spots just sand. They have aerated the edges and are doing work to bring it back, hopefully they can restore it.
This time of year some dry conditions to be expected, but it can be better.
Still a good course to play.

At least 5 fairways were unplayable. The course should be embarrassed to charge to play the course. A cow pasture would have been better.

Greens too fast for my skill level
I recommended this course for some of my friends to play who have a better skill level than I have. The green speeds are too fast for any of my golf friends with my skill level. I really don't like saying this because it is a great course overall.

Not bad for winter
The greens were really good and fast. The fairways were not bad for winter, a little sparse in some areas but playable for the most part. The course was a little wet in some areas, but this is normal for Debary when we have heavy rain. Not my favorite course, but still like to play here a few times a year. Not bad if you can get a deal on tee off. Wouldn’t pay full price.

The course is in rough shape. Most fairways are roped off making it a long time consuming walk over to the ball and back to the cart. There is standing water in many of the fairways and there are no warning signs. Hit your ball, proceed on the fairway and find it in the middle of a pond of standing water. Very disappointing.

Never again
The staff is pretty friendly but the regulars who play here taking their sweet time on the course slowing the pace of play are not. I have played here many times. Today will be my last. This course is completely under water. I played here a month ago thinking the course may have dried up a little. I was wrong! The same ponds in the middle of multiple fairways have yet to addressed. Due to these terrible conditions I will not be returning. Too many other courses in the area to have your day ruined playing here.

Poor management
Painfully slow play. Way over booked. Got to tenth hole there was three groups waiting to tee off. I won’t say I’ll never play there again but I’m seriously thinking about it Very poor management

Greens are legit
There was a hurricane jr golf tournament event before we played. The greens are amazing. Some thin fairways #8 is washed out. Some are blocked off and thin. Ppl drive all around the greens and there are cart paths around some greens that shouldn’t be there. Place is getting a lot of play right now.

OK shape compared with most courses right now that are suffering from lack of maintenance. Greens looked rough but roll fast and true.

Tight lies, thin fairways ....
Greens are fabulous, but I'd wait awhile before playing here until the winter grasses grow in. Most fairways are thin, rough is nearly pure dirt in many places. They do have a lot of the course roped off to prevent carts, should help the grass to grow, but for now I'd go elsewhere.

Slow and slower
We got put behind a pro who played 4 balls. Had to stop playing after 9 holes and 2:50 minutes. Wish we were told that they had people using the course as a practice range. In front of the pro were college teams preparing for a college tourney there. I don’t blame them prepping for their upcoming tourney I just I wish the course starter advised we were in for a long round.

Greens not in good shape

Course in Rough Shape
The fairways are beat up, Rough has very little grass. It is trying to recover, Most fairways are roped off, You must drive on the outer fringes, then walk to the ball. Greens are just fine, very fast, but good grass. It should improve in time.; however, will not be playing DeBary for a while, unfortunately because it is a good course, Just in rough shape now,. They do need some grass to hit off of.

Large group play
Only issue was pressure to tee off before actual time as 1 player was running late but still got off on scheduled time. Don’t know why large group was insistent on teeing off early as at least 3 foursomes were right at the 1st tee box creating an off road experience to get around. Overall did enjoy the course. Greens were very fast and in great shape and will return. Thank you
