The Legends at Orange Lake Resort

Very friendly staff in the Pro Shop and starters. Having said that there was an older gentleman at the starters desk that could learn to smile and be a little less prescriptive. Quick to tell you what was not permitted rather than providing a solution. Big problem was the state of the course and in particular the greens. Arriateted but also poorly maintained. Clumps of clover and too many bare patches. Other parts of the course we're also rougher than I expected. Design and layout are excellent. If they sorted out their greens I play it again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful layout with seemingly different style front nine to the back. Challenging small greens on almost every hole and some picturesque approach shots.

This is a resort course so the standards are set by this fact. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. All smiles. The course itself is a great layout. The fairways were cut nice even with all the rain we have had the past few days. The Greens rolled well, but they are on the verge of loosing them to weeds. Hopefully they will pay more attention to them as I am sure they will.

Played this course several years ago and it was "pristine" - fairways were like carpet, but not anymore! Grass is sparse in some areas and weedy in some others, but still very playable. The greens were in good shape - not too fast or slow. The layout is really good and fair for a mid-handicapper. The beverage cart staff was"Top Notch!" They were the most enthusiastic I've ever encountered. Don't pay full price though. Get a GolfNow time or book from the 25th - 31st and pay the date.

Course in terrible shape. Not many players, so pace of play was great. Normally a great course. Don't know what happened. Would not recommend until course in better shape. Should be a "One Star" rating.

We have golfed this course about three times a year for the last five years. It has always been a treat. I don't know what happened but the course was severely lacking. Borderline goat ranch. The greens were horrible and they need to sink some money in this course fast. Despite this being my best friend's favorite course we will not return until we have assurance the conditions are as we have come to expect over the years. I was embarrassed to have booked this!

Played this course several times before and found it excellent so really disappointed this time to find the whole course looking/ feeling rather tired and in need of some care and attention. Tees are scruffy, fairways have bare patches and are not well defined and then come the greens, which are some if the worse I've played on over the last month. Needs a re-rating if it doesn't improve.

Greens were in pretty good shape for the time of year, they aren't aerifiying until 1st week of June so worth playing before that.

Rest of course was in pretty decent shape for this time of year.

Played at lunchtime and only saw 4 other groups the whole day.

Value for money was a great deal especially compared with most other courses in the area.

Go play it this week before they do the greens

Oh my goodness! Signage to course is terrible so allow extra 45 minutes to find it. Random people walking up cart path to first tee like it's a park. No ranger in sight all morning. Multiple people fishing around ponds that protect greens oblivious to golfers approaching (seriously? ) All of this capped off by 5 workers repairing about 25% of the 18th green who absolutely would not get off the green for 165 yard approach shot. Oh yeah, $37 for 6 domestic beers. Biggest disappointment I've had in years. Don't bother with this one. Played Mystic Dunes on Tuesday and was a very good value. Spend your golf time there instead for a much better value. Good golfing!

Great value on the Hot Deal, full price would have been too much. Greens and tees area little rough and need some work and some of the fairways need more grass. Overall though it was a good value for me and he staff were great.

Poor maintenance regarding grass care -- weeds everywhere including greens.

Amazing course, brilliant views and wildlife. Truly a hidden gem.

Enjoyable holes to play, plenty of length to the holes if you wish or shorter tees if you prefer.

We played the Orange Lake - Reserve course three weeks ago and were not impressed at all. We got a Hot Deal rate ($19) to play the Legends course and were extremely pleased with the condition of this course. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Pace of play was excellent, but that may have been due to the 32C/90F temperature. I find most courses challenging, but this one is well laid out and would be a good test for a better golfer. Would play again.

This course is not in that great of shape when I was there. Not top 75 in the state. If I paid what everyone else was paying that day I'd have been furious! No Ranger, kids rolling through bunkers on one hole. Riding bikes on another. More kids running around on another hole screaming.

Play this course once a year on vacation. Good value with the Golf Now discount.

We thoroughly enjoyed our round from check in to eating at the course restaurant. Not sure what all the previous negative comments were about. A couple of greens were spotty as were a few fairways but that can obviously be overlooked when rating the entire course. The layout is tremendous and the greens rolled true. All bunkers were raked and no problem with tee boxes. Have already penciled in another round at the Legends this time next year.

For those of you which care about all the other misc. stuff besides golf, check-in was fast & efficient, cart girl was very friendly and the entire staff was great including our waitress for lunch.

Have played this course many times before however was extremely disappointed in the overall condition of course from tee to green . Tees were quite bare and greens looked extremely tired in need of attention .

This course was not worth the green fee we paid and would say it is living off past glory as far as a reputation is concerned !!

Hope course conditions improve again as the course has a great layout and is normally a pleasure to play !

Greens and fairways were in terrible shape. Not much grass on the course. We played durning the afternoon when it was 92 degrees and there was not a drop of water in any of the coolers throughout the whole course. Won't be back

Boy has this course been let go. Course is in TERRIBLE shape. If Arnold Palmer seen the shape it's in he'd probably demand his name be taken off it. I should say that I feel the $30 with fee's I paid for a Hot Deal at 7am was fair. That price was supposed to include Range Balls and Lunch. No one was there to provide range balls and pro shop didn't open until 5 minutes before our tee time. And club house part was still closed when the round finished. Glad I checked the recent reviews and didn't pay any more than what I did. Wouldn't recommend because of how bad of shape it's in. I can say I have paid $89 in the past at this course and had no grips.

Have played both Reserve and Legends, and will both again, but the Legends is a step above. A few spots in the fairway and a couple greens but not many. Nice layout, some challenging holes.
