The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
About
Orange Lake Resort & Country Club in Kissimmee boasts four different golf courses, two championship courses and two nine-hole layouts. Undoubtedly, the most popular course is the Legends. This Arnold Palmer-designed layout is like getting two courses in one. The front nine is a traditional links that is wide-open and windy, which makes club selection particularly challenging. It is a good warm-up for the even more demanding back nine. On the backside, you will be playing through mature oaks and towering pine trees that border the lush, winding fairways. It is quite a feat to successfully maneuver your tee shots through the narrow openings of the trees, which gives it the feel of a course in North Carolina. The signature hole is the 13th. This daunting hole features a large green that is shielded by a rock wall, surrounded by tall grass, and protected in back by a sand trap.

Great Design on this course
I was disappoints sine the new management took over. First time in 12 years I saw sedge weed grass on the greens. The GPS has been taken out. Fairways use to be better. It seems to be going down on maintain the course up keep. Still one of my favorite courses.
Great Course, Great People
Greens, Fairways were flawless. Tees, like most in Florida are crowned and offer little opportunity for a level spot to tee your ball. What is it with Florida courses? Level your tee boxes people. Checked in with bag drop and pro shop with ease and met by very friendly people. Will definitely play there again.
Two in One
The layout was very interesting, almost like two different golf courses in one. Very nice elevation changes and undulating greens. Well kept and some challenges that were unexpected. A nice treat, and a good pace of play. Be aware the facility is cashless except the beverage cart and bag fellows.
Challenging but fair.
Enjoyed very much and would play again. Would recommend. Found the attendants to be courteous and helpful.
The only negative to this was the salesman in the Pro-Shop who was in fact quite rude. Didn't seem to have time for you and his manners left a lot to be desired. However, the staff in the restaurant were just lovely, very polite and more than made up for the salesman.
Pace of Play
Staff was Ok but not great..Starter pointed to 2 guys on putting green and said "your playing with those two I think"
Played behind twosome that was behind threesome.Waited every shot for the first 5-6 holes even though there were holes open in front of the 3some.Saw the course expert as we made the turn and 1 time on the course but he didnt approach anyone and we waited every shot on the back nine.
Waste of a greens fee
No one from the course was managing the pace of play. Called the pro shop for assistance to speed up play and no results. last time I play this course.
Going downhill
This course is quickly headed downhill. First they remove the GPS from the carts, no big deal i have my own but they are seriously lacking in any yardage marking. Then the greens are mowed so oddly it makes it impossible to putt. Then i guess someone realized that mistake and they let the greens grow out.
I dont know whats going on at this course but unless its a great deal on GolfNow i wont be playing here again for a while.
Super slow greens
I have played this course 5 times. 3 of the 5 times have been bad. Greens so slow that you could throw off your putting for other courses. I have never seen greens this slow ever. Will never play here again. So many better places to play for less.
Nice lay out, very playable, really good price
Course was in pretty good condition considering all of the rain in Central Florida of late, the greens were very slow, they appeared to be recently aerated, all in all, good round of golf for the price!
Orange Lake Legends Golf Course
Course was fine but the greens were just recently aireated and we're not very good at this time. In the past the greens were acceotanle
Legends @ Orange Lake
The Greens were recently punched. (Monday/ Tuesday) making putting, well, trying to put, tough. The crew were all over the golf course trying to improve conditions. Most of the Bunkers were dry, water level in all the ponds are up, all in all not a bad day but I wish I I knew ahead of booking that the greens had just been done.
Great Layout - Poor Greens
Course is very scenic and is a good layout. Nice variety of holes and some challenging approach shots. Fairways and tee boxes were nice. The major issue is the condition of the greens. They had been recently punched and covered with (a lot of) sand. That's common this time of year. But they also contained a lot of crab grass which significantly affected putts. For this reason I wouldn't recommend. Most of the staff was less than enthusiastic. Course has potential to be very nice...hope it comes back.
Hot day of golf
Teed off at 12 noon. 100 degrees. Finished 18 in 3 1/2 hours. Course in very good condition. I will keep coming back. Kept hydrated so I was fine.
Great Value on Golf Now
Always a fun track to play. Can be played by all handicaps but you must pick the course yardage that is right for your skill level.
Tee boxes were a little worse for wear and the greens a bit slow but quite playable regardless.
All in all very good value and would highly recommend.
Fantastic Course
This is a really good test, Arnold Palmer design and you can see some similarities to Bayhill in some of the water guarded greens. Course is in good condition and is as good if not better than the somewhat overpriced Disney courses. Only one minor grumble was the pace of play due mainly to some hackers in front but we will definitely return there.
Universal Studios Getaway
This golf course was close in proximity to the my hotel. I booked my Tee Time that morning and arrived at Orange Lake Resort about an hour before my Tee Time. I was met at the gate staff with friendly and courteous service. They gave me a guide and directed to the clubhouse. Once at the clubhouse the club staff pulled my reservation and directed to starter. The golf course was in good condition. I didn't have anyone in front of me all day. I played fairly fast and was done with 18 hole in less than 3 hrs. Once I completed my round, the staff cleaned all my clubs and loaded my bags into car. The service of all the staff members was excellent. I will definitely com back.
Quality has decressef
I played this course 2 years ago and it was in a better shape than today. Especially the greens that are almost burned. Pace was very long and you need to be patient. There are many other courses around that offer a better value for price.
Great value for the money
This review is done reflecting my prepaid round was only about $15. So expectations, especially course conditions are reflective of what I paid.
I played in the afternoon after they had a large event in the morning and they were just coming off the course, so probably the worst time for most courses to. Get new people going out. The staff was very friendly and even dug a good cart out of the staging are for me since everyone had just chaotically parked anywhere they pleased.
the design of the course was very good. It challenged me as a low handicap, but would be very playable for a higher handicap golfer, no forced carries over water from the front two sets of tees that I could see. In front of the greens there was always an option to play around the water.
My only complaints about the course we're from a design standpoint. 1). The 4 par 5s are done after 11 holes. (There are some short birdie opportunities on the last few to make up for it). 2) the sand in the fairway bunkers had shells in it, for more of a waste feeling, but a little larger than I have seen other places, made me somewhat concerned for possible damage, but probably only to soft forged clubs. I just in favor of a uniform sand in green side and fairway bunkers. 3). A couple of really long walks would make this difficult to walk if you chose, especially between 10 green and 11 tee. (they do have water coolers on every other hole, so staying hydrated I. The middle of summer would still be easy!)
Course conditions were not ideal, but for the price was extremely playable. There were some burnt spots on fairways and greens, but don't think it ever effected my rolls. Greens were an average to above average speed, but were receptive to shots.
There is no GPS in carts, which were in good condition, but with my laser rangefinder had no problems finding distance to the 150 post or to hazards etc. everything was visible or obvious from the tee.
For what I paid I was extremely happy with all the service and quality and condition of the course. If I had paid $75 to $100 I would have been somewhat disappointed with e condition, but the service is still there.
Solid Course
We played just after a rain storm so the course was empty. Its a fun design, and is quite challenging on a few holes.
Ok course
Course wasn't in great condition. Golf carts need an upgrade. Yardage markers are poor so is directional signs and hole layouts.
