The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
About
Orange Lake Resort & Country Club in Kissimmee boasts four different golf courses, two championship courses and two nine-hole layouts. Undoubtedly, the most popular course is the Legends. This Arnold Palmer-designed layout is like getting two courses in one. The front nine is a traditional links that is wide-open and windy, which makes club selection particularly challenging. It is a good warm-up for the even more demanding back nine. On the backside, you will be playing through mature oaks and towering pine trees that border the lush, winding fairways. It is quite a feat to successfully maneuver your tee shots through the narrow openings of the trees, which gives it the feel of a course in North Carolina. The signature hole is the 13th. This daunting hole features a large green that is shielded by a rock wall, surrounded by tall grass, and protected in back by a sand trap.

Orange Lake
Course and facilities in very good condition. All staff very friendly. Had a great time on the links. One downside pace of greens very slow.
Great Course Must Play In Orlando
I have played there a few times over the past few years. This course should be on a list of places to play in Orlando. Multiple tees so you can chose the level of challenge you would like. Variety of shots required; greens pretty smooth and in good shape.
Demise of a great course.
Have played this course many times over the years when visiting Florida. It is sad to see what I regarded as one of Orlando's best courses reduced to this. Tee boxes were very poor. The rough was overgrown. The greens needed cutting. The general condition of the course has become unrecognisable form the course I remember. GPS is no longer available on the carts. Spoke to the people in the pro shop asking why the course was in such condition and was amazed to hear them say they thought the course was in great shape! I would have placed The Legends up there with the likes of Grande Pines,(sadly also gone) in terms of condition, though not as difficult, and a must play every trip. Those who remember this course in all its glory will be very disappointed if they play it now.
Disappointed outing
Having played at this resort four years ago at the reserve course, I was looking forward to playing their Legends course. Fairways did not appear to have been mowed and the greens certainly hadn't. At best, they were rolling 7/8. It was difficult to keep the ball on line they were so rough. The only bright spot of the outing was the cordial reception provided by the cart attendant Eric.
Fast 18
Great pace of play. GPS would have been a huge plus since it was our first time there. Fair but challenging course. Needed a cart person & the free lunch coupon left a lot to be desired. Definitely will play here again
Course makes you think
Overall Orange Lake Legends plays very good.
A few holes have water hazards around greens, which makes you think about your approach play to the greens, personally this is the type of course I like to play.
Challenging course for all levels of golfer depending on the tee boxes you use.
On the day greens were playing slow, for the area I found that rare, but added to the challenge.
Would highly recommend anyone to play the course.
Great Course
Great course for the price. From tee boxes to greens, course was in awesome shape.
First time playing here but would definitely come back!
Typical Resort Course
We played the Reserve earlier in the week and were hoping the Legends would be a step above, as we had heard it would be. While the layout was better than the Reserve, the course conditions overall, in particular the greens, left some things to be desired. I think they had just been aerated earlier in the month, but there was little evidence of the plugs. However, the grass was very long and made putting a fiasco.
Pace of play was slow - there was a fivesome 2 groups in front of us that held up a whole litany of groups around me. The course ranger bemoaned the fact the starter let a fivesome out. Not good.
For the price we paid ($50 plus fees and taxes) this was not great value. I highly recommend Orange County National Panther Lakes or Champions Gate Country Club well above The Legends.
Bourg boys
Course layout was nice, but the greens were airtated and we didn't know this, also there was a lot of dead cut grass everywhere. I would play this course again if these issues weren't there.
Nice resort course
My experience at Orange Lake was positive, although I was charged twice for one round (one through golfnow, one through the club), so I need to resolve that soon. Course was definitely fair, I played from the whites because of the folks I got paired with who weren't good - but I think that's the risk of playing at a resort course. This ended up slowing up my round, although if I played as a single, I could have played it in 3 hours or less. Greens were recently aerated when I played but did not pose an issue at all, so it was a great value. Everyone who worked there was super nice. Cart girl was pouring double cocktails for my playing partners at like $14 each, I was drinking beer at $4 or $4.50.

Excellent golfing experience
I have played this course many times and it is always a challenge for a 19 handicap golfer ! We played off the blue tees, which is just over 6200 yards and is long enough given the amount of water on the course. The course forces you to think, but can also sucker you into going for it, which probed to be my downfall yesterday ! Played the front nine to handicap, and then got overly confident resulting in six shots being dropped to handicap on the back nine.
Top standard golf course with service to match
Played for first time outside of Australia golf courses and the standard of the course at Legends is first class, from tee off to on course snack shuttle staff the service was excellent.. We could learn a lot back home from these added services. Also bar staff at the 19th were only to happy to give free samples of some of the local brews before making any purchases..another big tick!!
Good, enjoyable course
Course is a good mix of challenging holes mixed with some opportunities to score on others. It's a good, enjoyable course.
Legends
Nice course. I have seen it better kept than this time. Staff at restaurant and around the course we're very friendly. I would recommend this course.
Excellent day.
First time at this course really enjoyed my day, course was in excellent condition with a great variety of holes. Staff were excellent, greens were of good pace but still playable. Not the most difficult course but defiantly a course I would play again.
Évaluation du terrain
Très bon ratio qualité / terrain / $$$
Green 10/10
Terte de départ 10/10
Fairway 10/10
Excellent terrain
Legends course
The course management has changed! The new golf carts don't have GPS. No towel, no ice provided for the cart. The course is in need of maintenance. I purchased a special from Golf Now to make this round affordable.
a little disappointing
compared to the multitude of courses in the area I would not rate this course as being a good value for the money. 2 1/2 hours to play the front nine was a torturous pace of play. probably would not play again at the cost and pace of play but its a nice course
Great find
We were staying in nearby area and had played the Orange Lake Reserve before. Although the Reserve course was fine the Legends is by far a better layout with water playing a part on approach to many greens particularly on the back nine.
The course was in great condition, tees, greens and fairways.
We are back later in the year for a weeks golf and this will now be included as a course to play.
