Golfer Reviews

The course is in excellent condition and well worth the price. Plenty of water to watch out for especially if you fade the ball.
Nice terrain, poor conditions
Greens were extremely dry, sandy while fairways were soggy due to poor drainage. We had a good pace going until the back 9 when two foursomes jumped in front of us and slowed pace down to a crawl. No ranger to be seen. Would not play this course again
Lela Mustang
The Mustang course at Lely was a pleasant surprise. I played from the back green tees which made the course challenging. The fairways were fair and well maintained. The greens were fast and true. Overall an excellent experience.
Very Good Course
The pro shop was very accommodating and allowed me to switch from the Mustang course to Flamingo Island. The course is in good shape but lack of rain has meant some greens with quite a bit of sand on them.
Overall, the course provides a bit of a challenge and has some very picturesque holes. I would recommend this track to even the lowest of handicap golfers.
Flamingo course
I played the flamingo course and I played on a Palm Sunday and it wasn't busy. I had a 12:12 tee time but was able get off early. It was very windy, which happens in south Florida. The resort has excellent practice facilities, putting green, chipping green with bunkers and huge driving range. The carts have gps maps for yardage. The course itself was in great condition. The tee area was the most worn, but not awful. Plenty of tee choices, depending on your level. They have a beverage cart on the course and we saw her three times. I didn't have anything to eat at the clubhouse so I can comment.
Mustang
Fast greens that were top dressed. there were no rangers out to speed up play that was slow from 5th on. some tee boxes need to be addressed. a few bunkers had a lot of rocks in them.
Pretty nice
We have been playing the Lely courses now for like 20 years. This year we found the Mustang course being in almost perfect condition, even a tad better than normal, with green speeds closing in on maybe a 10 on the stimp meter. Which is quick for the avg golfer. The course is nicely maintained and pleases the eyes. However, even when played from the tips, it is not very difficult. It is the perfect course for a relaxing golf outing with friends and to enjoy a beautiful setting.
This course was very playable
Playable course. Staff was fantastic. Little pricey for what you get.
Good course
Good public crowded course. Somewhat friendly bag persons, much better after $5 tip coming and leaving. Very friendly starter Chuck. Good conditions, faster greens rolled true. Lots of housing. Nice clubhouse with Sam Snead's 42 hole in one golf balls and other framed memorabilia.
Terrific vacation getaway golf destination
A friend recommended Lely resort. Played flamingo the first day in the afternoon. Pace of play was a bit slow towards the end. Very nice course in great condition. The next two days played mustang at the 6:41 tee time. Both days first group and played in just over 3:20. I liked Mustang because it's very scenic but the water is not as reachable. Sam snead's restaurant has great food. Facilities are immaculate. Staff very helpful. Starter is a volunteer. Wouldn't accept a tip. Highly recommended.
Interesting layout - most of the holes require thought.
Thoroughly enjoyable course in good condition - greens are challenging and fast.
Naples in tourist season
Good course with good people and facilities.
During winter very busy and expensive. Staff was well organized and friendly.
Five hours is absurd
I had a 12:54 tee time and finished at 5:51. And carts were available only 6 minutes before our tee time which made it tough to get from the bag drop to #1.
As for the pace of play if there was a ranger pushing people to keep up with the recommended pace no one in our foursome saw it.
I have played there numerous times in the past without encountering these problems. I have no idea what happened yesterday, only that I certainly didn't like it.
Overbooked
We played after 3 for special rates. The course was over booked and the starter made no attempt to match tee time with playing. He's just said go over and tee off. We had three or four groups on every holes waiting. This is not the first time we played but it is the last time. In talking to groups in front and behind us they indicated this is common. You should post that they over book and the rounds are slow on you site. I do not recommend Lely
Gerat Course
Great Course! Need to ply it several times to know where to hit shots. Greens were fast and tough to read. Water really comes into play on several holes. Will play again if in Naples area.
Mustang is a Nice track
This is the fourth time we have played at Lely and we thoroughly enjoyed the play. As a higher handicap golfer we found both courses to be a challenge yet not too difficult for us.
