Wyncote Golf Club
About
Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The heathlands layout feels like a links course with wind being an important factor and thick fescue coming into play. The golf course starts with an especially tough front nine but there are more scoring opportunities on the back. Mounded bunkers and moguls define the movement of the fairways and though there aren't many trees, if you don't keep your shots straight you might find yourself out-of-bounds or lost in the high, wiry grass. Sidehill lies await you as well as a few blind shots. Wyncote's greens have little undulation but the lightning fast putting surfaces are a challenge for players of all skill levels. With a few "grip it and rip it" holes mixed in, Wyncote Golf Club is a tough but fair test.

a little softer than normal but excellent conditions
Wyncote is a great course. On this day the greens and fairways were a little softer than normal due to rain the previous day but everything was great otherwise. You better hit it straight here because if its a little off target your ball is lost in the jungle. On this day it was unusually calm with the wind which was a real plus.
Excellent Golf Course
Wyncote staff and crew is keeping this course in great condition. They have a nice course layout and you will get your mix of some easy holes and some very challenging holes. Absolutely love this course and I will be going back for more. Tee boxes, fairways and putting greens all in fantastic condition.
Best Course Condition
I have not played a course this well kept in a couple of years, and they wanted the carts in the fairway for the length of the hole, we played in 4 hours, and weather was outstanding too !
A gem...but issues
This absolutely beautiful course is 90 minutes from home, so I only get there once a year.
It’s always in immaculate condition with manicured fairways, true-rolling greens, and a varied, interesting layout.
But...last summer I took two foursomes out there and it was a 5 1/2 hour round due to the slow play of two groups of VERY deliberate older foursomes (we’re all seniors, too, but quick players). There was no Marshall and, when we called the shop, our complaints were ignored.
The other day, four of us went. The course was swarming with one and two player groups. We let one single and two twosomes through, although we were on a four hour pace, and finally decided enough was enough. We refused to let any other single play through.
Very poor course management...hook up the singles and twosomes!
PS....Why no flag system? The shop said they had no idea what the flag placements were....huh?
GREAT course...friendly staff...just be prepared...
Well kept dispite all the rain this year. Tees, greens, fairways all great shape.
Bring your A game
Wow very challenging for high handicapper. Excellent shot makers track. Enjoyable even though challenging. Use good course management and you will be happy. Possibly lose a few sleeves.
Slow Back 9
I really like this course, that’s why I drove an hour to play. The course is fair and fun. The fescue causes slower play as people look for their balls, but the back nine was ridiculous today. The first two holes were completed in one hour and the two groups causing the back up were in no hurry so I had to jump ahead to avoid a three hour back nine. Rangers would have helped but courtesy was what was really needed.
If you haven't played here, you should make plans to do so!
The course is in great condition right now! From tee boxes to the greens was almost perfect. Bunkers were wet, but that's understandable with all the storms lately. greens rolled true and were very fast! Kind of pricey, but definitely worth the $$$.
Wyncote
Great course for great price no one on course less then 3 hour round
Very good, very hard.
Everything was manicured perfectly. The layout was interesting. Water hazards and high weeds made me use all of my clubs. The staff on the course was very friendly. I left my putter on the 8th green and a greens keeper gave it to me waiting on the 9th tee before I realized that I had lost it.
Alas, you can love this course, but it won’t love you back. I’ve played about 25 courses and this is the hardest one, no doubt. If you’re a high-handicap golfer, bring lots of balls.
Wyncote Golf Club Continues to Shine
It has been about 20 years since I last played Wyncote, mostly through a charity golf outing that used to play there. While they have added a few homes around parts of the course (and a full service clubhouse), the homes are not too close to the course and they don't materially detract from the beauty of the inland links golf experience (which is still outstanding).
They have continued to maintain the high quality of the tee boxes, fairways and greens. The bunkers look like they need a little work and the driving range is not quite as nice as the course (but, it is still very usable with natural turf to hit off of).
The course is a real treat (and worth the trip to Southern Chester County).
Great course!
Awesome conditions and pace of play... again! Well worth the drive
