Great Day At Stonebridge Photo submitted by Brian9256097 on 04/17/2018
Great Value
This is a mid level layout course. The staff is excellent especially the golf pro Stacy. This course has done a serious turn around in the past year. The greens really good, the fairways are ok, and some of the bunkers need some work. They offer free range balls but it's only a 200 yd. range so no driver or woods. They have a chipping green and a large practice putting green. If you get a hot deal tee time you definitely can't beat the price and value. If you just walk in and pay it's still a good value for the price. All in all a great value course with some challenges at a good price.
Great fun course
Love this course and happy to know the residents recently voted to take over ownership. Tight fairways at times (serious duffers might get too close to houses for comfort).
A good, easygoing course for everyone
Stonebridge offers a fair challenge to golfers of all experience levels. My friends and I play this course at least once a week, and always have a great time doing so. The staff, from the pro shop to the bar are top notch. Overall a very relaxed atmosphere that makes the hard game of golf that much more enjoyable.
First time at Stonebridge in a while
Course was in good shape..pin placements on a few holes were a bit over the top difficult for average players..a little disappointing that they eliminated 9 holes making it an 18 hole golf course..always liked the variety
Good value
This course definitely is a bit worn around the edges (especially the clubhouse) but plays well. Very tight fairways on some holes so if you are a big time shanker you might be breaking some windows!
Quiet secret
Stonebridge is a hidden gem on the city’s West Bank. This course offers an affordable option that strikes a fine balance between the highest end courses in the city and the public courses. I’ve played this course weekly for over two years, it offers wide open play, friendly staff and members, a driving range, and a challenging round. The greens aren’t fast, but have improved over the last 6 months and are the largest around. All in all this course offers a fair test at an affordable price and shouldn’t be ignored.
Fun day of Golf
Played here several times in the past. The course has improved in past year or so. Great course for a group of buddies to go out and enjoy themselves.
Good Value
The greens are 7 out of 10 and getting better every week. Free range balls but a 200 yard max range (NO DRIVERS). The layout is a basic amateur golfing layout with some challenges. The bunkers near the greens are ok but fairway bunkers are horrible. The fairways are ok and the grass around water hazards need to be cut. All in all at a $20 hot deal it's a good value.
Good value
The course was in good condition for the most part. Greens were a bit rough and sandy. Lot of water to avoid on many holes.
Quaint golf course.
Visiting from New York this golf course is nice. The staff was also very nice and welcoming .
Don't waste your time and money
This course is not what it looks like in the pictures online. The greens were some the slowest that I have ever putted on. The bunkers were something that you could not play out of with many having standing water. The rough had not been mowed so it was also very difficult to find balls hit slightly offline. Overall not worth the time or money spent! The only reason why pace of play is average is because not very many people want to play a course in such dis-repair I guess.
Booked as a single and wasn't allowed my own cart becuase there was a possibility of running out with the number of interested calls. At the turn plenty of carts still avaialable. Had to go out and find two singles on the range without being introduced and have one of them meet me by my car to put my bag in the cart before starting. A little frustrating, but the course was in decent shape except for some patchy grass here and there, fairway bunkers are in pretty bad shape and tee box markers could use some upkeep but overall a decent round. Enjoyable layout.
Was a tad disappointed
This course is close to New Orleans while on vacation. That is the upside. Another upside is getting a good rate on Golfnow. After that, it is a disappointment. Conditions are avg at best. Tight! I wouldn't play it again
Average course
We golfed here on a Saturday. We had a lot of waiting between each hole. They were finishing up a tournament in front of ua amd had one later the same day. They were letting people out way too quickly. This was the first time ar this course for us but conditiona were not conducive to what we read on the reviews. Fairways were very bumpy and had a lot of weeds. Cart paths needed to be re-done. They had hige ruts and the concrete was lifting up in areas. We were told the course was under new management. I think this could be a better than average courae if management put some money into it.
