Great Day At Stonebridge Photo submitted by Brian9256097 on 04/17/2018
Horribly maintained, outdated course. WORST EVER.
We have played a wide variety of courses around the US including championship courses and small neighborhood courses. We can appreciate inexpensive, no-frills courses and played this as a precursor to a more upscale course (TPC) the following day. Despite our measured expectation, this was BY FAR THE WORST COURSE WE HAVE EVER PLAYED. The course was not only horribly maintained, the surrounding scenery consisted of industrial parks and poorly maintained neighborhoods. There was some construction around the first few holes, but the remainder of the course was only modestly better. Staff was friendly, club house was reasonable, probably very nice a few decades ago. Unless there is a major renovation/upgrades to the course, we would NOT RECOMMEND THIS COURSE to even the least picky of golfers.
Plumber705. We appreciate your review and the opportunity to improve. We have recently taken over management of the facility, in early 2017, and would love to hear more of what you experienced and how we can improve. I can be reached at brett@golfstonebridge.com.
Thanks for your time.
Improving course
Much improved course compared to the last time we played. Some of the greens are a bit banged up ,but you can see they are putting work into them ,and the good greens are good, fast and challenging.
Thank You so much becket1 for taking the time to review us. The staff has been stepping up to get some of these past issues addressed. Thanks again and come see us again!
Good value- fast greens
Had a great deal for the round. Played quick with minimal waiting. Greens had been sanded, but rolled fast and true.
Had a good hamburger at the turn.
Thanks for your comment about the greens and the value, your AWESOME! We have been working to get our greens back in shape this year. Appreciate your feedback very much. Come out again anytime.

Holiday Round
The golf course was not in good condition. The greens were some of the worst I have seen. Most of the greens had a fungus on them. The pace of play was good but their was not many people playing. It will be a long time before I play it again.
Thank You for your comment David3783065. You are right, we were not at our best when you played with us. We have started to and will continue to address the green conditions. They are already making huge strides.
Feel free to email me at brett@golfstonebridge.com if you would like to give us a try again. Thanks again for your review.
Down in the bayou
This course is in Gretna just over the bridge from New Orleans. Plenty of water there is a river, a canal and standing water. Fairways are dotted with bunkers. The sand is not consistent throughout. Greens are a little slow, but pretty good overall. Service was terrific. Pro shop in back and hard to find. Range balls included and already at the range. Range is irons only (200 yards). Price was good for non- residents. Play early to miss the crowds and heat. Not as long as advertised in Golfnow. (7200) Ranges from about 5400-6700. Overall a good golf experience.
Average
The course was average, we played in the middle of a hot day so pace of play was good. The rough had a lot of old mowed grass which at times made it hard to find your ball. The greens were OK, some had bad spots on them. Overall it was fun to play.
Bad
Greens are completely dead. Deplorable
Close to the heart of new orleans just wish the grass was greener
Gretna and Stonebridge was wonderful for location and price if you get to play the full championship track. Layout was good; it was fair and yet a few of the holes challenging especially playing from the back tees. Wish the grass hadn't been hit so hard by the weather as most of the course was brown. Greens were for the most part hard, fast (despite the rain) and brown. They hadn't recovered from fall/winter over seeding and aeration. Course levee construction prevented us from playing the back 9 so we had to play the executive course. I do have to say for an executive course it is better than what Illinois courses call executive it even had a par 5 and a couple par 4's. Alas that was also with three holes with temporary tees and or greens. Kind of a mess this one is worth the try once they get things back to normal.
Not Worth the Price
Played with 2 friends of mine and none of us were impressed by the course at all. Cart paths were ripped up in spots due to consruction. Greens were not in very good condition. I've played worse courses but the price we paid for this course, we expected a whole lot better. I won't be returning anytime for the foreseeable future.
Plenty of potential
I really enjoyed the layout, several interesting holes that require you to think before you swing. I look forward to playing the course again when the greens are in better shape. Word is all of the rain this past winter did a number on the greens. Right now, they're lacking in the grass department. But, for what I paid through GolfNow, I found the course to be fair and fun. Played the last 10 holes with a group of regulars, and that made things a little bit easier.
A nice Sunday
Arrived as a single, the gentleman at the Pro Shop was very professional and accommodating got me out with next group.
Pace was a little slow mostly cause by our group that had a beginner. the course was a wet form the heavy rain the days preceding but the greens were well drained.
all in all a nice Sunday....
Great Day, Nice Course!
The weather was beautiful and the course did not disappoint. This was my first round on this course and I will be back for more! The conditions for this time of year were pretty good. It looked like the greens had recently been worked but other than that I can't complain. I really enjoyed the layout. Most of the par 5's were a challenge, it would take 2 excellent shots to be on in 2, but that's the way I like them. I can't wait to go back and play this course again soon! They have great special going on in March and I hope to take advantage again!
varied layout
27 hole course. Many hazards and bunkers. Good large greens. Plenty of space. Challenging but not hard. Nice people. Free range balls. Chipping and putting areas. Good value for a really nice place.
Glad stonebridge was open on mardi gras
Greens were very fast; fairways were cut; bunkers are ok
Good value on west bank Jefferson parish
Play it if you can.
Lots of duck-goose feathers
Duffer's delight
Good golf, plenty of great shot potential and shanks
Weekend warrior
This course has so much potential. Love the links style but greens were in horrible condition. Some of the bunkers were so hard with no sand in them. This course could be so much better than what it is. Big dissapointment.
A work in progress
It was advertised as being newly renovated, however it's still under construction. My main issue was there were no signs to lead you to the next hole. (This way to hole 4, etc...) also most courses now have a visible 150 to the hole yard stick to give you a better aim. With all of this being said, I will be back.
