Great Day At Stonebridge Photo submitted by Brian9256097 on 04/17/2018
Improvements needed
This could be a very nice course, but the conditions need to change. Greens, while evenly cut, were a little long and contained plenty of weeds (crows feet). Sand traps needs to be totally redone, ridiculous amount of grass/weeds. Even at $10/round (what a deal!), it wasn't worth it, sorry to say. No rec, until improvements made.
Great facility
Course is challenging. Definitely an obstacle riddled course, but it makes you focus on shot selection. Very enjoyable. Staff is great. Carts are new.
Jeers: Even with the construction on the canal. Its only temporary and . Range has a 200 yd max. Otherwise it would have 5 stars across the board. Golf now has good deals.
One Time
Lay out was good. Bunkers were terrible due to water and very little sand. Greens were being aerated but would not have been that good anyway. Was not told about aeration. Would not recommend at this time.
Plugs
This course is a gem in the area near the Navy base. it's a 27 hole course and very well laid out. The upside is free range balls before and after your game, and two putting practice areas. the downside, no drivers on the range, the bunkers are hard packed dirt holes, some of the tee boxes could be evened out, its an odd feeling not driving off a level surface. on this particular day, they just got done with punching the greens, so they were bumpy. But a fun time.
Stonebridge almost great!
Course in grate shape except no sand in bunkers. If proper sand levels it would be 9.9(nothing gets a 10).
Did enjoy myself.
Has potential but needs some help
Paid 45 to play which was reasonable. Challenging front 9 and a back nine you can score on. Bunkers are in need of attention and were hard packed sand when we played making them effectively unplayable. It appeared that there was enough sand and simple maintenance raking might make them playable. Greens were inconsistent. Some were weedy some were water stressed. Again a little more basic maintenance would go a long way. The greens have good turf to work with so pay more attention to watering and spot treat the weedy sprouts. It's an interesting course at a good price close to the city. Improve a few basics and you have a gem
Good course but there are some maintenance issues.
I played at a very good rate but the sand traps were terrible, no sand, clay like dirt with overgrown grass. The greens were inconsistent and very slow. The 19th hole is good for drinks but there is no real food service available.
Course in great shape!
The course looked great and played great. The greens were a little slow and needed a little work but I really have no complaints.
played for $16.00 bucks
Sand traps were terrible, hard or overgrown with grass. The greens were consistent but consistently very slow. We played for a rock bottom price so for $16 bucks and a round of golf with buds and suds not bad. I wouldn't travel a great distance seeking it out for play but locally it's not bad. They also have an executive 9 that was I think in better shape than the 18 regular holes.
From the right tee's with a twenty five mile an hour wind it's a challenge. The big greens are the equalizer.
Anyone that plays golf these days knows all courses struggle at times. The last couple of times I played Stonebridge it was a bit ragged. 11/5/13 all positive. For the money, one of the best values in New Orleans.
Decent
My round of golf here was not bad considering how much I paid for it, but I would not play here unless I get a significant discount since the course is just maintained decently and it is farther from downtown New Orleans than I'd prefer when taking into consideration the whole experience.
Really enjoyed playing this course
There was an ample number of "Risk / Reward" shots to keep me on my toes. The fairways were not the best; but what is this time of year. The majority of the greens rolled true with very few flaws. Can't wait until I'm back in New Orleans to take another stab at getting a few more rewards for my risk taking now that I've seen the course and what it has to offer.

Well maintained, excellent value
Stonebridge has some of the best/most well maintained fairways in the New Orleans metro area, it's a great value for the money, & it is fairly challenging as well. The best part is they have 3 9 hole courses & you can play all 27!
The course is in great condition!
This is a great course. Fairways are what fairways supposed to be. The greens in great condition. Excellent value for your money. You must use course management on this course or it will eat you up. Will absolutely play again.
Good times
Nice course for moderate golfers, greens play very well.
Solid course and very tight!
Play this course in March 2013. Front nine is very tight with water everywhere, traps everywhere and subdivision houses lining every hole. The fairways ran pretty fast so if you can hit long irons or a 3 wood straight, that will be the right choice. The back nine opens up slightly. I'd rate this course a C+ mainly due to some weeds in the rough, and the greens were pretty bumpy. Positives are the clubhouse which was repaired after storm Katrina and the rates were reasonable. If you like placement golf, this is your course.
Fairways are in very good shape, greens need work
Always enjoy playing this course; easy to hit off fairway surface, bunkers strategicly placed, most greens protected by water and/or bunkers. Greens were a little bumpy, needs work
Course of the year for me!
First off, kudos to Golfnow.com for getting me a ridiculously low rate for me and my crew! I didn't mind paying the fee once I saw what other's paid after us! Even the proshop attendant stated "great rate". Second, I have played in many states this year because of the nature of my work and Stonebridge was the best thus far. I don't imagine it getting any better than that for the rest of the year. When we pulled up, the marshalls were friendly and gave some insight on the course. Once we the proshop openend, the attendant was friendly as could be. There was even a little book on the carts about the course. #HINT#- as of 11/2012, the books were misprinted. The back nine showed as the front nine and vice versa. Other than that it is a great track with varying distances that will make you second guess. But the greens were awesome, the fairways were plush and I along with my crew really enjoyed this course. Even played the additional 9 holes known as the Harvey 9. If you have the chance, stop by Stonebridge. It is definately worth the drive!
Hit em' st8
Nice Layout
Speed of greens was inconsisient.
Nice bunkering
Greens had some nice contours
Would be a lot of fun if Faster
Good course
Front nine more challenging then the back which has wider fairways. Good bunker placement.
