Ignore the negative comments on Yelp...this is a fun course with great value. Not all areas are super well maintained but it plays like a mountain course, with nature areas around and between holes. Elevation changes and great views add to a fun course. Black tees would be brutal and only for the longest and best hitters. Blues provide excellent challenge and white tees provide a good challenge with reasonable distance, especially the holes 10-18. Greens are well maintained with multi tiers and tricky slopes but rarely ridiculous. Definitely will be back. Staff was friendly and casual.

These people are deceptive, booked on line with golf now , but was a w as liking price, I understand that, but then to charge you $20 each , 2 to a cart $49 is a total rip off!

The location is a bit out of the way, but I was looking forward to trying a new course in north county. The guy in the club house was friendly, same with all of the staff I saw.

The course itself is very narrow and unforgiving. The course design was very unusual (par 32 on front 9, par 38 on back 9. There's three par 5's to start the back 9. But the main issue was the terrible condition of the tee boxes, fairway, bunkers and most greens.

I play here a lot but the staff is horrible. We booked a round through golf now and it said $32 went to the course and charged us $45 so they try to upscale you. Wouldn’t give us a refund. Also we played an exactly 4 hour round. But the Marshall asked us to pick up the pace. This course would be awesome if they had better management.

Course is a good blend of holes for people not quite ready for a full length course, but want something more than an executive. Back 9 about 1000 yards longer than the front and feels more like a “full” course while the front plays more like an executive with 5 par 3s and no par 5s. 3 par 5s to start the back, although all pretty short.

Needs some maintenance. Greens and tee boxes are decent. Bunkers are almost all Growing weeds or overgrown. Anything outside of the fairways/rough is basically weeds at this point. If that doesn’t bother you, can get some decent priced tee times later in the day especially during the week. But at $49 to ride on a weekend morning, maybe a tad overpriced. Also charging extra $10 for single cart riders right now.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Gets warm in Escondido this time of year, bring water and sunscreen.

Course was in ok condition and pace of play was slow. Finished 18 in about 5 hours and 20 minutes. Probably would choose a different course not play here again.

It ain’t Torrey. It ain’t Madeira’s. It’s a public course that needs a lot of love but is a fun little track. This place will make you learn to pick your shots and learn technical play. It ain’t always driver off the tee.

The fairways were baked a bit. The bunkers are trash. Trash. Fix this, now.

Greens were decent.

Boulder Oaks is a fairly challenging course. There are straight - away par 3s and 4s, mixed with blind tee-shots on holes. I would suggest golfing with someone who is familiar with the layout --someone who can direct you to the targets. The Sand traps are mostly unplayable. Fairways are decent. Some greens are scuffed. The overall surroundings is reminiscent of Mr. Woodson. Not having tournaments on Weekends is a good move for management! I'll be back.

It is obvious the course has been modified poorly. The front nine has been broken up into very awkward par 3s and short par 4s. Then the back starts with 3 par 5s. Its the strangest layout. Tee boxes are very poor and fairways are slightly better. Divots are worse on the front nine than the back. People! Fix your divots! There is a note in the pro shop that they are charging an additional $10 because their carts are taking a “beating” due to COVID 1-person rules. Sorry, their carts are taking a beating because the numerous bald areas in the fairways and near the greens need to be grated to smooth the ruts out. This was not worth the $60 (25 for cart) round fee.

This is the second time in a year that I have played this course and I almost didn't book the tee time because of the recent reviews but I am glad that I did!! I don't know what some of the reviewers were talking about--the course is in great shape! I guess maybe they have not played any golf lately--I have, and believe me, compared to other much more expensive courses, they are maintaining it wonderfully, aside from the bunkers, that is. All courses I have played recently have completely let the bunkers go--all of them. I'm perplexed by this and always intend to ask the starter why they are letting the bunkers turn to weeds but I forget:( Anyway, back to the point at hand--this course is in great shape, the fairways and greens are manicured just as they should be, and further, they are green and not a dried out mess. I have been golfing for a long time so this is not a beginner's opinion!!

Played here several times. Today the cart broke down. They said they would send somebody right out to us. That would have been fine. After 20 minutes still no cars in sight. We were playing with a handicapped man who needed a cart. I ended up jogging back and getting a cart. The pro shop was not willing to offer any compensation for our lost round because we had booked thru Golfnow Hotdeal. Problems happen no big deal just dont make the customer responsible the business problems.

The course is a shadow of it former self. If you don't hit the fairway you will be hitting out of unkept weeds. If you land in a bunker you will be hitting out of a mix of DG and weeds. It's really a shame this course has been let go. For the price, it really isn't worth the money. Since the remodel this course has steadily gone downhill. This is my second time playing since the remodel and I was even very disappointed in the sate of the course.

I was really excited to play this course after the reviews. I was highly disappointed. The course was not well kept. Hole 2 greens were in terrible condition. Most of the course fairways were dead and riddle with gopher holes. Cart paths were very confusing. Pace of play was great with 18 taking only 3.5 hours. Staff was super friendly as well. All of the sand traps were over grown and not taken care of properly. The holes if you hit even slightly off the fairway you were in hard rocky areas. No roughs. The worst condition of a course I have ever been to. Will not go here ever again.
