Decent Value
Still cart path only, difficult because no real continuous paths, players drive all over and some muddy conditions exist. Sand looked OK, greens good on front, slower on back but rolled and held fine. Fairways good, may divots (mostly unfilled). I’ve always like their layout, and if play moves along, a nice place to play. Still can’t help but ask…..no continuous cart paths ($?), clubhouse closed due to remodeling (for months), very old cart fleet (mine died on 11). Personnel friendly, reasonable price, desert golf experience, just a bit rough around the edges.
Course in good condition
Haven't played this course in 2 years and was pleasantly surprised in its condition. The brush has been cleared which opened up the fairways. Fairways were in great condition, the best I have ever witnesed.
Good value
Best value for city courses (49ers wins overall). A good course (best are Sewailo and Starr Pass) in much better condition (like all the city courses) since OB Sports took over. More likely to find a rattle snake on a cart path (Crooked Tree is #1). Like all courses, fewer trees and sand traps. Just refurbished sand in traps, making them much better. Has become more popular and so slower (Del Urich is the slowest). Easy to lose balls (Del Urich is the hardest) due to lots of desert areas and interesting design (which used to be why it was most hated). Back tees are 6,809 yards, longer than most, providing a real 72 par (Red tees are under 5,000 yards - good variety). Greens are firm (not as hard as El Rio). Good practice areas (if you aren't killed by a sniper - that only happened once).
Great course!!
The whole course is well taken care of!! Other courses in town are struggling to keep up.
Slow
We wanted to go back to this course and give it another chance. It was worse this time around. They schedule the tee times so close together that it takes forever to play. Every hole we were waiting on the group in frobt of us. They we also waiting on the group in front of them. There was even a few holes where we were stack three 4-somes deep on the tee box waiting on people. While the price is on the cheaper side, its def worth the extra money to not have the wait.
Great course, great times,great people!!
Great course, have played this course several times with my son who is new to golf and we have a blast!! Pro Shop people always awesome and friendly!!
Lots of Potential
This course needs some love but has a lot of potential. A lot of fun and if your a beginner it’s an excellent course for practice.
A challenging course for a great value
I've been playing this golf course for years, and this one is a fun and challenging golf course for all handicaps. Although not in perfect shape, overall the course is good and very playable, and a good value for the price. Normally, pace of play is pretty quick, but it gets slow on Saturday and Sunday before 11 am. Typical of a city course. The staff here are awesome and very accommodating. If you love desert golf, you will enjoy this one!
