Great City Course
I like the layout of this golf course and the maintenance crew is doing such a great job cleaning up the desert. It’s making the golf course look more and more like a prestigious course. Once the cart paths are 100% complete the course will really come together.
Changes
Very pleased with the new cart paths, cleaning out the brush and just in general the condition of the course. Wish they would allow us to take the carts to our cars. We older people need a break when it comes to getting our clubs to the cart.
Enke on a Saturday
I love playing Fred Enke but on this day, play was very slow. There is a definite need for a Marshal to monitor play or either space more time between groups.
There is a need for steps on some of the tee off areas as a couple of days slid down, fell down or had difficulty climbing up and getting down from the tee off areas. Definitely a hazard that should be looked at.
Pleasant Surprise
I have played a handful of other courses this winter around the Tucson area and found Fred Enke to be in as good or better shape then the others.
Enjoyable
Greens were firm and fast. Very nice rolls. Playing for first time without local knowledge would be tough. Several 200 yard tee balls from tips are needed. Great value and highly recommended
First time
Fred enke was a great time, I was able to work on my game. The fairways are open and friendly. The is a great course overall.
Confused
I thought that I had paid online when booking only to learn that we had to pay at the course. I had wanted to treat our gusts but they ended up paying! And more than the online price.
It’s worth the money
The greens on this course are in great condition. The course is short and you have a lot of no driver holes. The worst part of this course is the majority of it is a dirt road. I’ve played desert courses before. The lack of grass anywhere besides the fairway was a little annoying. But for the money, it was worth it.
Yardages please!
Enke has a delightfully quirky layout, but with so many tough-to-see landing areas and hazard areas, an accurate yardage book or app would very helpful. The course map on the screcard is useless.
Weekend Therapy
Typical winter golf in AZ. Beautiful weather and in great condition. I just wish other golfers would repair their divots!
Fred Enke
Course is in excellent shape. Great fairways and greens.
Fun desert type course
With big gaps in the fairway, it's important to be able to hit a target. But the grass and greens are well maintained and it was fun to play a desert type course. Unfortunately there were some extremely slow groups and it seems like the person in the starter shack would have better been used as a course Marshall. There are some long distances between holes so it's a good idea to have a power cart.
