Good course
Fred Enke is a good city course, I was surprised the greens were in such good shape, usually, they are pretty drab at the Enke. Course looks good, too bad my golf game wasn't up to par.
Good to play in the moring
I played this course twice the past two weeks once was booked through here the other was a last minute walk on instead of going to the range. The range here is miserable end of story. The course is pretty good. As well maintained as would be expected of a city course in Tucson. The greens are hard and fast anytime, they do play better in the morning before the sun bakes them.
Won't go back anytime soon....
The course itself is challenging because the fairways blend into the surrounding desert and there are many blind landings. Directions to each hole are not clearly marked and the cart paths are rugged. We would have had a better experience if the pace of play was quicker and if the carts were in better repair. One of us had to get out of the cart to get up the inclines. This was after our first cart was traded out at hole 3. Can sometimes find better deals for del Lago so will wait for those from now on.
Challenging course
If you're off the fairways you're lost.
The course has been coming back as far as the condition goes.
Staff is super friendly. Generally not a crowded course to play.
Nice city course.
Fred Enke is an interesting desert course. It's definitely target golf and has a few tee boxes for big hitters. It looks good in August with the rains but is a little dry other times. Really fun when you get to know it.
The overall appearance of the landscape is leaning towards unkempt but it's got a quality. The fairways and greens are decent but it's not up for any calender shoots. I appreciate the game it offers but I am also a big fan of aesthetics in a course and this one is an OK muni take on desert golf.
Pleasantly suprised by the condition of the course.
I have been avoiding this course in the last few months because the condition of the course was very rough, but I gave it another shot, and hoped the monsoon rain would help the course, I was pleasantly surprised, the greens are smooth and true, the fairways are lush, overall condition of the course is excellent, I certainly will play this course many more times.
LOVED IT
Recently i had the chance to play ,and really enjoyed the course .It's my favorite city course right now . The staff just seems to GET IT. Everybody seems to be working hard to make my experience very enjoyable thank you r.e. lee
Green, green
The course was in very good shape with all of the rain . The greens were slow and a little bumpy. It was nice to see a city course in that good of condition.
Course is in great shape
Course is in great shape., no one was out there, we were able to play quick, the greens were excellent, had a great time
Course fairways were great
intermediate rough to long. Lost balls in high grass just a few feet off fairway
Best city course in Tucson everything great!
Fred Enke golf course is maintained to the highest degree of any city golf course in Tucson, and they do it with a minimum of staff and have for a long time. The fairways are beautiful the greens are smooth and fast and the course is trimmed to perfection, that is why I play this course more than any other city golf course in Tucson.
Challenging and Fun
course was in great shape, fairways and greens in good shape
Great layout,
The course is not one of the better Tucson city courses. The staff were great and the course wasn't in the best of conditions. It looked like the maintenance crews were working on limited budgets and had to skimp in areas. Kudos to the staff if this is true.
Carts were old an in need of replacement/repair. Mapping of course was poorly marked.
Great condition nice greens lush fairways
Nicest condition for Tucson city courses. Course has gotten a bad reputation for condition all untrue at this time. Would play instead of the city's Randolph complex
Great city corse
It's in really good shape right now. It's a good corse to learn on. Take lots of water it's super hot.
Fair desert course.
This is a local Muni corse with a "target" layout. Had to leave after 9 which took 3 hours! Ranger was non existent. VERY slow play due to many foursomes on a course that is a ball hunters paradise. No forgiveness as the rough is hard desert brush but if you play sensibly and control minded it's quite a fun challenge. Not a long ball hitters course and when you watch a group doing repeated power slices on tee boxes it's a nightmare long game.
Where have all the rangers gone. So much for pace of play month.
Target golf. MUST play conservative. Not really my style of course. Only hit driver on 4 holes.
Course in good shape. Play early as it only took 2.5 hours to play 18.
great course, nice greens, wide open desert areas and no big water hazards
course is brutal and challenging, played it a few times and getting better. lots of desert which means lost balls, course is in in great condition for a city course. this is a course that makes you think a lot about your next shot. great value for the buck
Good course, great course for value.
The course is moderately challenging, especially on the holes where you can't see the green. Enjoyable time, nonetheless. I would golf there again easy.
Great Price for a decent round of golf!
It's not in pristine shape for sure, but for the price, it's a decent round of golf and a good challenge.
