Course is in great shape!
I played Fred Enke on Oct 19. Teed off at 6:42am and finished just shy of 4 hours. Course is in awesome shape if you keep it in the fairway.
.
greens in good shape, a couple of spots in need of repair on just a couple of holes. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great turnaround, I will definitely return.
Fun course
They need to work on spacing out tee times more. I played the longest 18 holes of my life the other day (5.5 hrs), quite frustrating. They need to Marshall the players out there. In fact, all the city courses could benefit from marshaling to ensure pace of play.
Pleasant Round
Course in very good shape - including greens. Maintenance crew removing considerable brush from rough allowing a friendlier venue. Still in best shape of any Tucson City courses with great setting and mountain views! Even one member of our foursome who "Hates Enke" admitted the course was in great shape and enjoyed playing it!!
The best Tucson City golf course.
Feed Enke''s greens are in excellent shape....likely cut and rolled at my guess 10.5 . A fair Challenge and target golf course in very good shape. My favorite City Golf Course.
The course and greens are set up great
Great value for the money. The course was not prepared for the number of golfers due to other city courses closed for overseeding, and therefore were short on carts. Course in good shape.
nice shape
Haven't played there for a while because of the staff & condition of the course, was very pleasantly surprised this visit, the course was in nice shape & the staff was much friendlier than expected Will play there again, GOOD JOB GUY'S
Love the design, really flows through the desert!
Very enjoyable course. The fairways and greens were in good shape, very playable even though they were on the harry side. I would have like them a little shorter, most players would. I would like to see the city invest in improving the cart paths. Most were in rough shape and probably would not be good for a person with a bad back. Also, it would extend the life of some of the golf carts. Great practice facility. Walking the course can be done/rough, but I would surely recommend the use of a cart.
Nice course, good shape
There is enough rough to keep the ball in play which is important here. The greens were surprisingly good
This is a fun course to play.
There are a lot of dog legs. There are no markings on the tee box or on the fairways to tell you how far it is either to the end of the fairway or to the dog leg. It was in good shape. It was a good value.
overall a tough course for beginners but fun.
I like the course very challenging for beginners as well for others. I had a great round and the staff is very friendly. Some of the greens needed work and fair ways. Lots of wildlife seen a bobcat, rattlesnake, and a lot of parie dogs lol
course was in very nice shape
had not been there in a year due to conditions there the last time I played. was pleasantly surprised that the course was in such good shape and the greens were great.
Challenging but fun
Very challenging course when you play it for the first time. I might suggest you bring a few old balls, because it's very easy to lose balls on certain holes. You will have a lot of fun on this course. Be thankful you don't have to walk the course
Good course
Fred Enke is a good city course, I was surprised the greens were in such good shape, usually, they are pretty drab at the Enke. Course looks good, too bad my golf game wasn't up to par.
Good to play in the moring
I played this course twice the past two weeks once was booked through here the other was a last minute walk on instead of going to the range. The range here is miserable end of story. The course is pretty good. As well maintained as would be expected of a city course in Tucson. The greens are hard and fast anytime, they do play better in the morning before the sun bakes them.
Won't go back anytime soon....
The course itself is challenging because the fairways blend into the surrounding desert and there are many blind landings. Directions to each hole are not clearly marked and the cart paths are rugged. We would have had a better experience if the pace of play was quicker and if the carts were in better repair. One of us had to get out of the cart to get up the inclines. This was after our first cart was traded out at hole 3. Can sometimes find better deals for del Lago so will wait for those from now on.
Challenging course
If you're off the fairways you're lost.
The course has been coming back as far as the condition goes.
Staff is super friendly. Generally not a crowded course to play.
Nice city course.
Fred Enke is an interesting desert course. It's definitely target golf and has a few tee boxes for big hitters. It looks good in August with the rains but is a little dry other times. Really fun when you get to know it.
The overall appearance of the landscape is leaning towards unkempt but it's got a quality. The fairways and greens are decent but it's not up for any calender shoots. I appreciate the game it offers but I am also a big fan of aesthetics in a course and this one is an OK muni take on desert golf.
Pleasantly suprised by the condition of the course.
I have been avoiding this course in the last few months because the condition of the course was very rough, but I gave it another shot, and hoped the monsoon rain would help the course, I was pleasantly surprised, the greens are smooth and true, the fairways are lush, overall condition of the course is excellent, I certainly will play this course many more times.
LOVED IT
Recently i had the chance to play ,and really enjoyed the course .It's my favorite city course right now . The staff just seems to GET IT. Everybody seems to be working hard to make my experience very enjoyable thank you r.e. lee
