Weekend of golf
Nice long course. Fairways need some work. The greens are in great shape. Very good price for a weekend of golf. Would definitely recommend!!!
public/city course
For the time of year and the condition of the course, I think it was too expensive. There was hardly any golfers there; lower the rates in the summer and you might get more golfers.
First time at Silverbell Golf Course
A very nice course good staff nice Fairways good greens and would definitely go back.
Don't Waste Your Money
If you like paying overpriced fees for views of vast dirt wasteland, coupled with the stench from the nearby waste treatment plant...
Silverbell is for you. I don't understand how Silverbell and other city courses can charge such high green fees and barely maintain their courses. Where is that money going? Go play Arizona National, El Conquistador, Del Lago or San Ignacio for well maintained, quality golf layouts for the same price.
I will not be back!
Improving conditions
In the two weeks since I played the course it looks like they are working hard to improve conditions. The fairways were very nice—enough grass for the mower to cut! Front nine roughs looked to be greening up. Most green were nice. I’ve always liked the layout, especially the back nine. Staff is always friendly. I played early so pace of play wasn’t a problem.
Course not well marked.
The course was not well marked. I got lost a couple of times trying to find the next hole. There were very few distance markers on the course.
I arrived and checked in for my tee time 20 minutes before but the starter scolded me and acted like I was 10 minutes late. On the 9th hole, the ranger tried to tell my my pace of play was too slow as I had not joined the 3some in front of me. I explained the groups behind me were at least 2 holes behind & the 3some in front of me was setting a good pace, so I was able to keep moving.
I expressed my concerns to the starter at the end of my round. He apologized for his harshness and tried to explain how he had gained 10 minutes and the group in front of me arrived early, so he was trying to keep everything moving.

Fairways and greens are top notch. Staff extremely helpful.
Course was great. We quit on No.10 because of weather.
