Good course for the $$$
The fairways are nice and the greens are really fast. Just like most Tucson golf courses it isn't too difficult but the greens are like ice.
In decent shape. Good length and various tees make it user friendly to all.
Wide open golf course, which makes it a bit easier than some municipal courses. The length of the holes is more than adequate for all ages and all handicaps. Greens in good shape, fairways well maintained. Rough was dormant, but still in decent shape.
Not worth of playing for serious golfer
Sewer small all around the course, lots of slow players. They were calling off play at 6:15 pm even though we totally could see just because the staffs want to go home shows how much this city course lacks customer service.
Course can be a challenge
Course is in okay condition and seems to be somewhat maintained...restrooms are horrible....bird dropings everywhere on greens and elsewhere...it's an okay course; just not a favorite.
challening course
our foresome was behind pima c. college they played very slow second group was 1 to 2 holes behind 1st group all day. Which made for a long day also no fun never saw ranger anywhere.starters very nice and helpful.
OVERALL GOOD CONDITION
THIS IS AN ENJOYABLE GOLF COURSE THAT I CONSIDER TO BE PLAYER FRIENDLY, HOWEVER, IT IS A LONG COURSE EVEN FORM THE FORWARD TEES. TEES, FAIRWAYS AND GREENS ARE IN GREAT CONDITION. IT IS ALSO AN EASY COURSE TO WALK. WE PLAYED IN LESS THAN 4 HOURS.
GREAT FOR A MUNI. COURSE.
long open course with decent greens
Right now this is the best maintained of the city courses.
Long but not too challenging you can spray it and still recover on most holes though there are a fair amount of deep bunkers to keep you honest around the greens and water on 4 holes,8,9,16 and17. 16 and 17 are strong finishing holes that do require precise shot making. All in all a fun course to play.
Smells like someone farted?
okay for being a public course I guess, needs attention, however because its location next to a water treatment facility it stinks, literally. staff was cool, price was a little high for what it was, probably wont go back.
good outing
nice well maintained course. good value. got off on time and played steady without any hangups.
!nice course and nice staff
I have played Silverbell course maybe a dozen times over the last couple of years. Yesterday, Feb. 6, 2013, was the worst I have ever experienced. My tee time was for 1:13pm. I didn"t get to tee off until 2:10 !! There were no carts available and the staff were having to make excuses to some very hot-headed patrons. Some actually went back to the club house and got their money refunded. While the city has a nice course there,
they need to be sure that what is offered can be available to their golfers, There were maybe 15 to 20 carts in the cart shed waiting for repair (or replacement?). Needless to say I was disappointed with the whole mess. We barely got through our round when the horn blew at sunset. Hopefully this won't happen again and the city can rectify this problem.
Some great par 4s. Some very long from even the white tees.
Third time I have played this track, and I will play it again.
I enjoyed playing the course. It is a very scenic course.
Course was generally in really good shape. The fairways & greens are in excellent condition. I found the sand traps needed maintenance and more sand.
All in all it was a good golfing experience and I will play there again.
All good.
It's close to where we live, a public course, and in good condition
Good Value
Traps/bunkers could use some sand, overall OK for a public course. People great!
really enjoy playing this course
greens in great shape and putt very true, great course for all levels of ability
Great greens, long and flat from the white tees. Needs sand in the traps.
Long and flat but still a good test of golf. Silverbell has some of the best greens I've played so far in the Tuscon area, however, like other courses I've played so far, you need a lesson on how to hit out of the sand traps. Dirt and hard pan is a better discription for sand traps. I will play Silverbell again.
the green need a little water
there was a lot of bird dew on the greens
the fairways were a litlle dry
the tee boxes were a little dry
the cart paths were very rough in places and they fixed a few
for the money at 30 dollars it's not a bad experience.
the traps had one big large rock that my partner hit but I found the traps good with just enough sand
the greens were fairly good except for the bird dew..
A Surprise
I was surprised that the course was such a good layout. The bunkers are strategically placed. The green contouring is great.
We played the white tees and found the length acceptable. I will play the course again on my next trip to Tucson. Also feel the course is a good couples course and is easily walkable.
The course was in good condition and played well.
Very hot day. Needed refreshment cart. The fountains on the course that did work had absolutely horrible tasting water
A very fair course
Greens were good - smooth and quite fast. Tees and fairways were OK, but bunkers were very poor.
Pace of play on the slow side.
Overall a very fair course - no blind shots and no surprises. Some holes are a little narrow, but some are quite wide.
Overall a forgiving course, but holes 16 and 17 are tough.
Stay out of the bunkers however - sand seems to be in short supply!
