Great greens, long and flat from the white tees. Needs sand in the traps.
Long and flat but still a good test of golf. Silverbell has some of the best greens I've played so far in the Tuscon area, however, like other courses I've played so far, you need a lesson on how to hit out of the sand traps. Dirt and hard pan is a better discription for sand traps. I will play Silverbell again.
the green need a little water
there was a lot of bird dew on the greens
the fairways were a litlle dry
the tee boxes were a little dry
the cart paths were very rough in places and they fixed a few
for the money at 30 dollars it's not a bad experience.
the traps had one big large rock that my partner hit but I found the traps good with just enough sand
the greens were fairly good except for the bird dew..
A Surprise
I was surprised that the course was such a good layout. The bunkers are strategically placed. The green contouring is great.
We played the white tees and found the length acceptable. I will play the course again on my next trip to Tucson. Also feel the course is a good couples course and is easily walkable.
The course was in good condition and played well.
Very hot day. Needed refreshment cart. The fountains on the course that did work had absolutely horrible tasting water
A very fair course
Greens were good - smooth and quite fast. Tees and fairways were OK, but bunkers were very poor.
Pace of play on the slow side.
Overall a very fair course - no blind shots and no surprises. Some holes are a little narrow, but some are quite wide.
Overall a forgiving course, but holes 16 and 17 are tough.
Stay out of the bunkers however - sand seems to be in short supply!
Not too tough a course, fairly long.
Nice course to play. In fairly good shape. Generally meet lots of nice golfers there. Long course from whites but not that much trouble.
well worth a visit
Lots of distance on this course. Greens are good and the overall course is very playable....very good value
Classic golf - excellent value
I come out to Tucson to visit family about once a year and this is my second time playing Silverbell. Got a smoking deal on Golfnow and played it on a very cold and windy day following some rain. Course conditions were excellent considering how much it rained the night before. We played lift, clean and place and only found a few spots with a little standing water and minimal mud. Some bunkers had a little standing water but that was expected.
I wish more courses were set up like Silverbell. It is a long, demanding course that requires length off the tee and precise approach shots if you plan to score. What it also has that most courses lack are continuous fairways and very few forced carries. The greens were a little slow the day we played but that was welcomed as they decided to throw alot of Sunday pin placements on us. With the pins we had, the course probably played three or four strokes harder.
Overall, this isn't high-end resort golf but it is about as good as it gets for a Muni track.
Shortage of carts, had to wait for carts to play. Slow play!
1:13 tee time, had to wait for cart availabilty, and needed course sheriff to speed up play
Good Muni Course
The course is long but is in pretty good shape, and a great bargain. It is certainly walkable, although most people take carts. Play gets backed up on the par threes - in fact we quit at 16 because of the backup.
Good city course. Well maintained with a friendly staff.

Average Course
Worth the price paid on Golf Now. Regular rates too stiff for they quality of the golf course, it is the winter season so that made getting out of the rough a little easier..
Fantastic Value. A newer muni that is coming into its own and is a lot of fun to play.
Silverbell is a fantastic muni. If the overall rating was intended to purely establish value, i'd rate it 5+. The greens were challenging, and there are enough hazards around the course to get into trouble, while being generally wide open, so its not a ball hunting expedition. This is a semi-links style course, with hard fairways that roll, and lots of ways to play shots around the green. An excellent place to for all skill levels, but especially good for mid to high handicappers who will keep up the pace but take advantage of open design and easy to access greens.
Muddy,needs attention
This course is long, muddy, and unkept in some area's. There is no marshall and play is very slow. We saw children playing golf on the course. This is a public course and looks and acts like one.
the course is a good condition. greens are consistant
I suggest Golfnow reduce the number of required answers
on the survey!
Nice course, very opened
The pace was good and the course and greens were in good shape. We were allow to tee off early as the 1st tee was opened and we were ready to play.
Course is interesting.
Enjoyed playing Silverbell. Had a long wait for carts
because many were not in operating condition. Staff made
the extra wait OK. All in all a good afternoon.
This could be a great course if the Tucson park district took care of it.
The tee's and greens where in very good shape, but the fairways need improvement.
Good course, but the smell from the waste water treatment plant may make you wish you had palyed another course.
This course is a long one with 4 or 5 par fours over 400 yards from the white tees. The fairways were fine, and the greens are large and in good condition. The only bad thing about the course is the smeel form a nearby waste water treatment plant.
This course was a great value!
My brothers and I had a great time at your course this weekend, despite the individual working the tee time box. Not exactly a pleasant person to deal with. The staff members working the clubhouse, and beer cart were great - the course was great. Thank you.
