Oak Valley Golf Club
About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Oak Valley back 9 Photo submitted by VICRAZ7 on 12/09/2013
Still a challenging course.
this is a championship course. landmark golf started this course. and was at one time up there with pga west. much of the turf is good. but there are some jacked up tee boxes.
be prepared for uneven lies in the fairway after perfectly placed tee shots. elevated greens with massive fall-offs. bunkers in every imaginable place. lots of elevated tee boxes but the fairways don't roll like tukwet on the other side of the fairway. if you're lucky you will see bigfoot's house (course tree trimming lumber in waste areas).
play here regularly. you just might become a better golfer.
facilities not so great. only due to the fact that most of it is closed due to the pandemic or due to needing overhauling. i'm not sure but there are plenty of things nearby now.
Oak Valley
The course was in good condition especially with the heat the last week or so. A few rocks in the bunkers but the tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in good shape.
I was playing solo and had 2 very slow foursomes ahead that was very painful. Didn’t see a marshal all day- it may have helped speed them up
Solid birthday round
Came out for my buddies birthday. Course was in great shape. Greens were fast yet still soft. Balls into the green were sticking. Teed off at 630. Group at 620 had gone a little early so never seen them on the same hole as us. 640 wasn’t called to the tee box till after we were off the first green so never seen them behind us either which was awesome. Only thing I wish would change here is cart service and would be nice to see the club house open again. But from pure golf standpoint I’d highly recommend
Always fun
Couple tough holes but a great layout. Always enjoyable to play here. Love it and definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to golf.
Almost a great round
The only problem we had was there were two guys caught us on 14 because it got backed up and they kept talking loud and would not just shut up. I even tried just backing away from the ball, address and back off once they started talking again. My son politely asked if they could talk lower after a few holes. Found out after they actually work there , one guy with a pony tail. You would think they would understand golf etiquette.
Always a treat
Have loved this place for as long as I can remember. Great set up and always fun.
Hmmm
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this course but it did not live up to expectations. The club house wasn’t open, there are no food amenities, the staff is grumpy, and there are wasp nests lining the eaves of the main building. I’d rather play Hawk’s Landing in Yucca Valley for half the price and get better amenities and treatment. One positive was the driving range, which provides a grass hitting space.
No Marshall / No Food
First of all I will just say that I love this track. Always have. The conditions are good on the fairways and on the greens. Some of the outlying areas are overgrown and could be cleaned up. I joined the threesome and Teed off at 7:50 AM On a Sunday morning. We waited on every shot for the foursome in front of us that had multiple holes Open in front of them. There was no one there to tell them to speed it up. We didn’t finish until well after 1 o’clock. Was also disappointed to see that the snack bar had closed. It was just open a couple months ago. What happened?
