Oak Valley Golf Club
About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Need for customer care
It was 100 degrees and had no cart person on course. Also only 2 water jugs had water. Finished round and was informed that the refreshments stand was
Greens & fairways
Now greens are the best (better than Goose Creek, Tukwet Canyon, and Oak Quarry)!!!
Course used to be a gem
Very dilapidated over all. No modern upgrades in over 20 years. The greens and design are the only positives. Every other aspect run down. Used to be championship caliber and now it’s just middle of the road municipal level. For the price many other better options.
Great Course
The course is why you should come here, but the clubhouse was closed and everything else was run down. The staff was not very friendly, but the course was in great condition and the greens were in tip top condition.
Course conditions
Fantastic fairways & greens best for this course in months!!! Roughs a little inconsistently mowed in places. Great greenfees values on GolfNow. I’d say second best conditioned public course in Indland Empire behind Goose Creek.
Beautiful
First time playing this course and it was beautiful. Greens fairways tee boxes the whole thing was great. I can’t think of one bad thing to say except for the group in front of me playing two balls each, other then that course was in great condition. I enjoyed the driving range too. I will be back even though it’s a 50 min drive for me.
Morning round
Over the last few months this course has gotten in much better shape than it been in over the last few years. I’m very happy to see this golf course start to return to a top quality course that I enjoy playing weekly. That being said, customer service is still lacking. The club house remains closed, and the driving range is always closing at random times for service. This morning at 7 am 1 hour prior to my tee time the range was closing for service and a gentleman was removed from the range as well. This has happened multiple times at various hours of the day. Love this course, and will continue playing it for now, but local golfers and myself are getting tired of the lack of customer service and respect patrons are receiving at the course.
General Conditions
Greens & fairways I great shape; some tees struggling; pace of play fantastic, few players on the course @ 2:00 on a Wed….nice.
Hidden gem
I'm the type that likes to play different courses and I've heard about Oak Valley awhile back but never played it. I've been to Tukwet across the freeway many times and really enjoy that track. So on our way back from Palm Springs I took the opportunity to play here. I was not disappointed with the course, can't say the same about my golf game though LOL. Definitely a track that requires good tee shots and I just didn't have it that day. But with all the trees and beauty of the course, I couldn't stay upset for too long. We tee off a little before noon on a Monday and saw a single in front of us. Didn't see another person until the 5th. A 2some and then another 2some, so we let them play through. Didn't see another soul until the 18th. That's the way I love to play. Leisurely and at our pace. I will be playing here over Tukwet from now on and hopefully next time I can get that driver worked out. FYI, I live over 70 miles from here and would make effort to play here when possible. That tells you everything you need to know.
Food
I Hope they will soon open the café and Pro Shop. Need more then hot dog and sandwich. want some breakfast in the morning.
No frills but great.
I loved Oak Valley. Nothing fancy. Just a good golf course. The worst thing I could say is that the tee boxes could use a little work and if that’s the most you have to complain about then you’re in pretty good shape.
Great course!
First time at Oak Valley, but we’ll definitely be back! The layout was challenging, yet fun! Can’t wait to come back!
