About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Golfer Reviews
Hidden gem
I'm the type that likes to play different courses and I've heard about Oak Valley awhile back but never played it. I've been to Tukwet across the freeway many times and really enjoy that track. So on our way back from Palm Springs I took the opportunity to play here. I was not disappointed with the course, can't say the same about my golf game though LOL. Definitely a track that requires good tee shots and I just didn't have it that day. But with all the trees and beauty of the course, I couldn't stay upset for too long. We tee off a little before noon on a Monday and saw a single in front of us. Didn't see another person until the 5th. A 2some and then another 2some, so we let them play through. Didn't see another soul until the 18th. That's the way I love to play. Leisurely and at our pace. I will be playing here over Tukwet from now on and hopefully next time I can get that driver worked out. FYI, I live over 70 miles from here and would make effort to play here when possible. That tells you everything you need to know.
Food
I Hope they will soon open the café and Pro Shop. Need more then hot dog and sandwich. want some breakfast in the morning.
No frills but great.
I loved Oak Valley. Nothing fancy. Just a good golf course. The worst thing I could say is that the tee boxes could use a little work and if that’s the most you have to complain about then you’re in pretty good shape.
Best in area
A very friendly course with a great layout that challenges golfers of all levels with beautiful landscapes, good bunkering and undulating greens. The type of course where you can wind up using every club in your bag. The afternoon breeze brings an additional element to play which continues to engage to the point that when you get to the 18 th hole you wonder where the round went. What a great afternoon of golf!

I last played this course in the early 90’s. Just opened. Amazed it is still there. The greens were fast and none were flat so you had to have just the right speed. Great shape and consistent. Worth the price.
DONT DO IT
Not worth 80$, we had coffee grounds in our coffee from the snack bar, course was dead. Greens were OK…. Overall not worth it
