Oak Valley Golf Club
About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Oak Valley back 9 Photo submitted by VICRAZ7 on 12/09/2013
Course needs a lot of work
Sorry, this course was always on our go to list when we were in Palm Springs. Not no more. The course has not been taken care of, it’s messy , untidy, poor maintenance. Need I go on. We won’t be back.
Terrible course maintanence
Don’t get me wrong, the course has a great layout. But maybe with Covid the revenue is not there for course maintanence. I have played there three other times over the years. I will not be back. If you don’t care of how your course looks and plays .i won’t be the only player that won’t be back.
Great Value
Half the cost of Palm Springs courses and in better condition.
First time here and impressed.
Excellent course for those who can hit long. We eventually got paired up with another twosome who play here a lot and they were cool people. Would definitely play again coming from Rancho Cucamonga.
Disappointed
WE teed off at 10:15 AM and at 3:00PM we left the course after waiting on each and every hole. We quite after 16 holes since it was just taking too long. No Marshall on the course and the foursome in front of us waited until the group in front of them was on the green on every hole before they teed off.
Priorities
People complaining about no cart girl or food need to get a grip. Course has been in better shape but still good enough. Tee boxes being seeded so a tad overgrown. Rough is penalizing so hit it straight. Greens were slow but that’s prob from the actual rain so cal received. Fun day and props to the 4some that let us jump them on the 6th hole. More golfers should have the etiquette these kids had.
Prices Going Up - Course Conditions Going Down
The title says it all. I have played this course about 30-40 times over the past 4-5 years. I really like the course layout, and it is close to my home. However, the owners seem intent on trying to make as much money as they can without doing anything to improve the conditions of the course. The fairways and tee boxes have been getting worse every year for the past 5+ years. Most of the steps and pathways to the tee boxes have actually become dangerous - they are so uneven and basically falling apart. Fairways that were once lush green have become hard with tired grass and weeds moving in everywhere. And the gophers are starting to take over in spots. The fairways haven't been aerated in way too long. And the hard dirt traps really need work (they haven't really been sand traps in years). And what do the owners do instead of fixing up the course? They raise their green fees! After raking in money the past year plus and doing the very least they could do for maintenance, now they raised green fees. I haven't played the course since they raised their fees, and I have no plans to go back. Too bad, I do like the course layout. But while the conditions of most courses within 25 miles have improved the past several years, the conditions at this course have declined. And now they are also the most expensive course in the area. Why?

The course was in terrible shape. I have played this course at least 2 dozen times and they really are letting it go! Weeds and clover everywhere. This used to be a premier course and it is sad to see current owners ruin it!
Place is legit!!!
All there is to say is go play oak valley and you won’t be disappointed! Place is like a dream for people that want to play and leave all that other nonsense for the birds. No amenities which is perfect, keeps the crowds down!
This course is in great condition
Not only is this course in really good shape it’s also a really fun layout with a good amount of elevation changes throughout the layout. Greens were fast and nice.
Great course, but no services
I love the layout. Place is challenging (which I like). No snack bar, no cart girl, nothing...
Good course
It was a slow round . The 2 groups in front of us had us waiting on almost every hole after the 3rd . Also during that +90 degree heat there was not one sighting of a cart girl or any kind of refreshments during the whole round .
