About
This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Golfer Reviews
Nice experience
Felt like played at British Open, windy, cold and raining. Awesome experience!!
Course coming around....
They closed for two weeks in Oct. and the driving range and some fairways were worse for it. Golf course has really come back well, driving range is a mess. Grass on the range is still thin, it needs another closure and proper overseeding. No food cart and no drink machines, cart barn has water and beer. No on course water and rest rooms still closed. Take you own stuff and enjoy a great course....
Oak Valley
Great layout, course was in good condition. No pro shop or restaurant at this time.
Downhill slide
Pro shop closed/ restaurant closed/ course maintenance not where it used to be. This should all be stated when on a booking site. The few staff remaining were nice and doing their best! Greens were actually pretty good.
Superb Course Design
My wife and I really enjoyed this course yesterday. It is anything but flashy compared to the Coachella Valley courses, including no restaurant or pro-shop. Even the course conditions away from the fairway are a bit rough. But the design of the course and the superb greens (soft and fast) make the course really enjoyable. The course allows one to hit driver on every tee, yet there is always a preferred side of the fairway to be on as there are some really interesting green complexes. The fairways played firm and fast and the rough was not thick, except by the greens. The electric carts were top notch. There was also a grass range, albeit with the range balls costing extra. All in all, it was a great experience and super good value.
Love the Layout
Always like playing oak valley fun layout i will return again soon....
